Ephesians 6:10-12 Spiritual warfare is the idea that, behind the scenes, spiritual powers are working against God. The devil does not stand in the light for all to see but works through deception and schemes.
Revelation 12:9 This simple equation helps us unify a lot of data about Satan: the great dragon = that ancient serpent = the devil = Satan = the deceiver of the whole world.
Genesis 3:1-5 The serpent drove a wedge between Eve and God, convincing her that her Creator was holding her back from everything she could be. She did not resist him, and the results of her and Adam’s actions
Matthew 4:1-3, 5-6, 8-9 The devil’s temptations of Jesus attack his confidence in his identity as God’s Son. In the last temptation, he offers to give our Lord his own messianic destiny—to rule over the nations. Luke adds “for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will” (Luke 4:6).
Satan is “the ruler of this world” (John 14:30), “the god of this age” (2 Corinthians 4:4), and “the deceiver of the whole world” (Revelation 12:9). He disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), prowls around like a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8), and works to ensnare people so that as his captives they will do his will (2
2 Corinthians 4:3-4; Matthew 13:19 One of Satan’s primary goals is to prevent people from understanding or believing the gospel message.

Isaiah 53 foretells God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ with magnificent clarity. The crux of the revelation is that the sinless Messiah is the sacrificial offering as the substitutionary payment for the sins of all humanity, thereby providing atonement (reconciliation) with God for all those who believe.
Isaiah 52:10 God’s plan for our salvation is set forth
Isaiah 52:13 Before the servant’s suffering is set forth, his victorious glory is foretold. In 53:10, after the sufferings are described, his glory again is stated.
Isaiah 52:14 Uncharacteristically in the Scriptures, Jesus’ appearance is stated twice, here and 53:2
Isaiah 52:15 His form was so disfigured that he no longer resembled a man.
Isaiah 53:1-2 Jesus looked like a regular guy.
Isaiah 53:3 The Hebrew word for “sorrows” is also translated pain (2 Chronicles 6:29; Job 33:19; and Psalm 69:26…). The Hebrew word that is translated “grief” in verses 3 and 4 occurs 24 times and only here as “grief.” Everywhere else it is sickness (15), illness (3), disease (1), and affliction (1). Our understanding of “grief” is much different than sickness or illness.
Isaiah 53:4 The word “grief” could have been translated “sickness,” and the word “sorrows” as “pain.”
Isaiah 53:5 Well-being is the Hebrew word “shalom” and most often is rendered as “peace.” However, “shalom” has a fuller meaning than just peace. It is an overall sense of fulness, soundness, and completeness in mind, body, and estate.
Matthew 8:16-17 The context is unquestionably physical healing and is a quotation from Isaiah 53:4.
1 Peter 2:24 The book of Peter connects another verse with Isaiah 53.
The Greek word “sozo” is most often translated saved and considered to refer to spiritual salvation, the new birth, eternal life, but like the word “shalom,” it has a fuller meaning that includes physical healing and deliverance.
Isaiah 53:1 Will we believe?

Ruth 2:1 Boaz, the son of Salmon, was a kinsman to Elimelech (which is important to Ruth’s destiny).
4 Boaz and his workers are spiritually minded people.
12 Ruth was rewarded for living the right way before Yahweh. The blessings were there not only because of her loyalty to Naomi, but more so to Yahweh.
Deuteronomy 32:9-14 Figuratively, the idiom symbolizes Yahweh as the Protector. Psalms 36:7; 57:1; 91:4
17 Boaz showed great kindness to Ruth; perhaps his mother’s influence had something to do with this. Matthew 1:5 – Her name was Rahab.
20 The words “closest relative” could be translated “redeemer” and is best understood as “kinsmen-redeemer”. The ESV translated it “one of our redeemers”. As a kinsman-redeemer, under the Mosaic Law, Boaz could fulfill the duty of preserving the name of the dead by marrying Ruth.
The responsibilities of the redeemer included:
In all of this, we see the loving, compassionate Father caring for His children in need.

Ruth 1:1 The period of the judges was a chaotic time characterized by tribalism, warfare, and lawlessness.
Ruth 1:2 Due to the terrible behavior of the Moabites towards the children of Israel, God had banned Moabites from ever entering his assembly.
Ruth 1:3-5 Naomi lost her husband and both her sons. She became a childless widow—a devastating situation in any time, but even more so in the ancient Near East (Ex 22:21-24; Deut 14:28-29; 10:17-18;
Ruth 1:6-14 Naomi couldn’t impose a life of poverty and servitude on Orpah and Ruth. They could still get married again if their fathers could arrange new marriages.
Ruth 1:15-18 Orpah was a good woman, but Ruth was great. Orpah did what was right, but Ruth did what was heroic. Orpah did the logical thing, but Ruth did the compassionate thing. Above all else, Ruth demonstrated loyalty driven by compassion—the very same kind of chesed God demonstrates to his people (Ex 34:6-7).
Ruth 1:19-22 Naomi returns home with her head held low. People can barely believe it’s her, but her story isn’t over yet…

Faith is trust. It is having confidence in something and viewing it as reliable and certain. Therefore, how we think about things and our perspective toward them significantly affects our trust in them.
We will see from the Scriptures that the way we think in our minds directly influences our trust. We need to understand the power that our thoughts have upon what we trust in.
