Many people in Israel, after three years of hearing Jesus- words and seeing His miraculous works, did not grasp the significance of who He was. The time for a final decision was near for this generation, so Jesus continued to admonish and implore the people to come to the only proper conclusion about Himself- Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of sinners.

Jesus came to seek and to save the lost, but judgment will fall upon those who reject Him. He offers peace, but only those who repent and believe in Him will enjoy His peace. His entrance into the lives of believers will cause even the most intimate human relationships to break apart, when animosity to Christ and failure to repent and believe lead the ungodly to hate Christians. God-s grace through Christ can save anyone who would humble himself before this holy God.

Jesus Christ humbled Himself in His incarnation and death, but God the Father exalted Him as Lord of all.

Jesus is coming again, and all people must be ready for His return. Our Lord will righteously judge all people, and He will recompense everyone according to his deeds. We must faithfully and sensibly do His will in light of His unexpected return. If we receive more truth, we are all the more accountable for it.

Jesus teaches His disciples to live in light of eternity, not just for what we can see, taste, and touch. What we value shows the deepest affections of our hearts, and God must be central to how we view and use material wealth.

Jesus teaches about a proper trust in the Lord for daily food and clothing. Followers of Christ need not worry about the stuff of life, for God provides generously.

Jesus warned His disciples against every form of greed, then He illustrated what that looks like in the rich fool. He admonishes His followers to be rich toward God, by trusting Him and being generous with worldly goods.

When asked if He would help arbitrate a dispute about inheritance, Jesus refused and instead gave a warning about the heart attitude of greed which prompted the request.

How might someone blaspheme the Holy Spirit- What hope do sinners have of receiving God-s forgiveness at all-

Jesus warns His disciples to avoid hypocrisy by remaining faithful to Him in the face of opposition and persecution. God cares for each of His children, but He will cast away those who fall away from Him.
