What are you living for? We are part of Jesus' mission to change the world! Let us not live for anything less.

“My God, why have you forsaken me?” Have you ever felt that? The good news is that God has not forsaken us. God has never left us alone in whatever we are facing.

There is something in us that likes to mock. It is not enough to defeat our enemies; we want to humiliate them. We want to convince ourselves that our enemies are unworthy of respect, are somehow less than human. Have you ever fallen for it? Whom are you tempted to mock?

Both Barabbas and Jesus were revolutionaries. Barabbas wanted to change the world's power structure; Jesus wanted to change the world's power dynamics. The crowd had a choice. What do we choose?

We "play with fireworks" with no concept of the consequences. The world is on fire, and we blame others and sometimes God when we get burned. What does justice look like for this broken cosmos, this broken humanity? How can justice be done?

Have you ever looked at a mess in your own life and thought, “How did that happen?” How did that fight start? How did that relationship collapse? What happened? And how can I keep it from happening again?

Our Lenten series will be the Journey to the Cross, following the Gospel of Matthew step-by-step from the Last Supper to the crucifixion, to prepare for the joy of resurrection. The journey begins at the Last Supper.
