Perfect for bilingual Vietnamese toddlers.

Got this for my granddaughter who is Vietnamese-Caucasian American. She is 4. Her primary language is English. She also speaks Vietnamese with her Vietnamese mother and grandmother. With this book, she can hear the story in both languages. Cute story and colorful pictures. I would have preferred it in a harder cover, otherwise, good book.

Ho w the Fox got his color

I chose to give this book a four star rating because the translation is not one hundred percent accurate. However, it is a very entertaining book for children, and a very easy way to teach children italian.

Fox story

Great story for the kids and grandkids. It's a very short, cute story while relating the little boy Fox being mischief; with real little boys enthusiasm and natural instincts for mischief. Loved it.

Cute Story

I like this story and wanted some easy stories to help me learn the language. I did take a beginning Italian class and this book and others I got are helping me continue.

Colorful fun

What a delightful and creative way to bring the generations together, while sparking creativity in our young readers. The illustrations also add great harmony to the story.

My Kids Loved This Book!

This is a children's book about seen little monsters who live in a garden. I think it is a series even though this is the first book in the series and it is about the seven bored little monsters who found joy playing with each other. I read it out to my kids and so I'll be reviewing this in parts.

The Story: The story itself was cute and fun. I liked the fact that it was interactive so my 2-year-old could count along as I read. This means that she got to practice her numbers even as she had fun.

The Pictures: I think that was the cutest part of the book. The pictures were fun and vivid. They showed seven cute little monsters and my kids couldn't wait to flip the page and see more monsters.

What We Liked AboutSeven Monsters Ready to Play: It was fun, interactive and short, so it held the attention of both kids, including my 1-year-old. The monsters looked like friends and we all enjoyed ourselves reading the book.

What We Didn't Like: (Me) I'm being extremely picky here, but I wished the monsters were a bit more different that is, they had clearer facial expressions and that there was a way to tell them apart. They are different, but not that much.

(The Kids) They hated the fact that when you were reading the text, you couldn't see any monsters, but that was not the author's fault I think, it is one of the problems of using an e-reader to read children's books.

Conclusion: All in all this was a wonderful book for my kids (and for me too, I confess) and I can't wait for the next Seven Monsters book to come out. I'm giving this 5 stars for creativity, great graphics and because my kids loved it!

I'm really glad that Ann Tucker gifted me a copy of the book.

Wonderful Book For children to learn about LSU

This book is a real winner for children, and for that matter, adults wanting to learn about the LSU campus and its traditions, landmarks and is especially valuable for parents and grandparents to give to children. My wife and I are LSU graduates and we thoroughly enjoyed the book. It has nothing to do with "Tigertown" as indicated in a previous review. I have been a pediatrician since 1963 and I can say with confidence that pre-school and school children will enjoy this fun way of learning about LSU as a campus and as a great university. W.G. Delighful little learning tool...and it features a dog! What more could you want?

I am rather fond of "number books" and "alphabet books" made for children. In my opinion you cannot have enough of them. Children, like adults, will tire of the same old book when learning their number and need a bit of variety from time to time to hold their interest. In addition to this, a sure fire way of holding a child's interest is by the use of animals, in particular dogs or cats. This has been proven over and over again...it is a surefire ploy. The author, Celeste Butrym and artist, Nicolas S. Milano have done a bang-up job in using this formula with this latest offering.

The author has used a beloved search and rescue dog from real life...her real life, as a model (The back of the book tells of this wonderful story and the part this animal played in the author's life), by the name of Ranger.

It would seem that the numbers 1 through 10 are missing! Not a good thing if you are at all into counting things, and they must be found. Ranger the search and rescue dog is call upon to find these missing numbers and set everything right. Will he be able to find them? Can the young child find them with Ranger?

Ranger and the reader begin the search which takes them through various environments. Each number is hidden (but not hidden to the point that it is difficult to see them), page after page. The text here is simple but well executed.

"Number ten is on the roof! Look at Ranger climb; he's bringing him down just in time. Nine has fallen asleep near a stream. Ranger just found him, perhaps it was a dream."

Now a word about the art....I am not normally a bit fan of digital art work. I suppose I have not been able to make that leap at my age. I have to tell you though that in this case it worked for me. It is well done, smooth and extremely eye catching. The illustrations go perfectly with the text and I can tell you, since I tried this one out on some very young kids, that it works for the little ones also.

This work would make a wonderful addition to any young child's library and is a great learning tool.

An adorable book for preschoolers to ten years old

It is a fun to read book which teaches the child about the alphabet in rhymes.
