Postmodernism is basically a person creating his own reality and say this is what's real for me in my life and the result of that is that, not only have you created your own reality, but you have created your own morality. Knowing what our world has come through over the past generations, do you think you could raise a family not knowing where your next dollar would come from, next meal would come from, with no insurance but have the faith in the Lord to give up everything you have known to walk forth in the work he has planned for you?

Trace Embry, the founder of Shepherds Hill Academy, came from a rough background. His parents divorced when he was 5 years old and there was a lot of dysfunction within both parent’s second marriages. Trace says that he got insights from both of his parents because his mom’s family ran differently than his dad’s family, so he took the best of both worlds. He remembers being sent to church on Sunday more or less as a babysitter but at the age of 12 befriended a pastor’s son. Trace says that for about a year he was serious about pursuing the Lord but his friend was not so Trace backslid into a heathen lifestyle, though he wasn’t terrible, he was not living a believer's lifestyle. After 20 years, marriage and kids, Trace was invited by his life long friend who he worked with as police officers, to church. After a not so good experience the first visit, his friend encouraged him and his wife to return and so he did and that is when his spiritual development, his discipleship, his relationship with God really took off.

Who would give up everything and move their family over a thousand miles from their home to go to bible college? Who would give up everything again and buy a farm to found a residential treatment program for troubled teens? Would you?

A young man and his wife moved from Chicago to Toccoa Ga to attend bible college. With his family, no steady income, and paying for school as they went along, this young man had a calling from the Lord. The Lord told him to purchase land and so he went looking and found a farm, without hesitation he wrote a two hundred dollar check for a deposit on the land. When it came time to go back and make the arrangements to purchase this land, he didn’t know how he was going to buy it. In fact, he even told the owner, who could have sold it 5 times while waiting, that he did not know how he was going to purchase this land. The owner of the land just happened to own the bank in town and he sent him down to talk to a gentleman there and it was set for him and his wife to close on the land a week from that day. That abandoned farm that God had led him to, is now Shepherds Hill Academy. That young man and his wife, are Trace and Beth Embry the founders of SHA. If you have been questioning faith, this is a testimony that you need to hear.
