In this episode I addressed numerous issues that I've seen and experienced in the duration of my time at a catholic school. Are all catholic schools the same? I don't know. All I know is that as far as I've seen there needs to be change. When I saw the post and its comments, I couldn't help but remember all of my own stories; however, I didn't touch on everything that I wanted to. Aside from the stories I told in this episode, the institution has awful classism and is not inclusive to the LGBTQ+ community. Though they give some financial aid, the school expects students to purchase and donate excessive amounts of money which many people cannot afford. This leaves those of us who aren't rich feeling guilty and less than our peers. Schools should teach their students to be less materialistic. The LGBTQ+ community had absolutely ZERO place on campus until the past 2[ish] years. Young women in this community still have little acceptance from the staff, and they continue to be unjustly punished for actions. These are all issues I am passionate about. People of all colors, sizes, sexuality, and personality deserve to be respected and heard. All that should matter is how good of a person they are. Treat them all like people; we are people.
