This podcast launches off with a typical Mom-life situation: the kids are sick, Malia has another awful stye in her eye and my husband Kellen slips a disc in his back this morning after coughing, which put him on the ground (literally)…Therefore, Malia joins me for most of this podcast episode! Besides this humorous opening, my good friend Laurie Harvey joins my Co-Host Jordan and I for a heart to heart. Laurie is a full time Pharmaceutical Rep, wife and mother of 2 boys. Laurie shares with us the touching story of her mother’s long journey with multiple occurrences of breast cancer and ovarian cancer and her own scary results. Laurie found out she had the gene BRCA 1 genetic mutation that gave her an 86% chance of breast cancer in her lifetime. She ultimately chose to have a double mastectomy at a young age which turned out to be a life-saving decision. We talk about her feeding journey with her babies since she couldn’t breastfeed and she shares amazing resources for mothers who want to be able to provide their babies breastmilk if they can’t produce milk themselves. We also talk about how she balances her full-time career with being a very present Mom. She shares the birth stories of her boys and we share all our Mom wins and fails for the past week. We then go through a few listener questions you all sent in and give each of our thoughts on them! Lastly, Laurie shares what living an abundant life means to her as it relates to motherhood and shares how other Moms can start incorporating more abundance into their motherhood journey.
