Religious leaders attempt to silence the empty tomb with bribes and deception, working tirelessly to protect a lie. But while falsehood is costly and exhausting to maintain, the truth of the Gospel cannot be contained. Because Jesus is truly alive, we no longer have to live trapped in deceit or fear; we can wake up and walk boldly in the freedom of His resurrection.

The women come to Jesus’ tomb expecting death, but instead encounter their risen Savior. Jesus kept His word, and His resurrection gives us a living hope that sustains us through grief, calls us to trust Him, and gives us good news to share.

Jesus is laid in the tomb, the stone is sealed, and everything seems final. But what we see in front of us doesn’t always tell the whole story. When we don’t understand what God is doing, faith holds on to what we know about who He is.

Darkness falls across the land as Jesus breathes His last. When the temple curtain tears in two, it declares that through Christ’s sacrifice the barrier between humanity and God has been removed.

The crucifixion's mockery reveals a holy irony, for even as Jesus endured the cross He was fulfilling the Old Testament, proving His identity as the ultimate Prophet, Priest, and King, and becoming the once-for-all perfect sacrifice for sin that demands a personal response of faith.

Jesus willingly bore the mockery and judgment our sins deserved. We are called to reject self-preservation and live lives marked by humble service and holy meekness in response to Jesus life, death, resurrection, and ascension.

Barabbas was guilty and condemned, while Jesus was innocent and undeserving of death. Yet Barabbas walked free because Jesus was condemned in his place. His release gives us a powerful picture of the gospel: Jesus took what we deserved so that we could receive what only He deserved. The cross is the great exchange, where the righteous took the place of the unrighteous so that guilty people could be forgiven, set free, and brought to God.

We've all done things we wish we could undo. Guilt can weigh us down, but regret alone cannot make us right. The Holy Spirit reveals our sin not to leave us in shame, but to lead us to Jesus. We don’t have to carry what Christ has already carried for us.

Peter’s greatest failure wasn’t the end of his story. Life in the Spirit means responding to failure not by hiding in shame, but by allowing the Spirit to lead us to repentance and back to the grace of Jesus—when I fall, I run to Jesus.
