The book of Revelation is scary and complicated, isn't it? Not so fast! John introduces this book as a revelation given by God to SHOW His servants. It's not meant to hide or confuse! It's a thrilling saga of Jesus' victory over the cosmic forces of evil, and if we will take a step back to understand its big picture imagery we'll find that it's not scary at all, but rather an electrifying source of hope as we live faithfully for Jesus.

"Worship Jesus because He is WORTHY. That's the thesis statement of

Revelation. If you want to understand it, it's not impossible. You don't

have to have a degree or a decoder. You've simply got to come with a

heart full of worship. In today's passage, the Apostle John introduces us

to this spectacular and mind-blowing book. If we allow it to have its full

effect, it won't simply reveal truth to us about God, but it will unveil the

truth about us; the condition of our hearts and our churches. It will serve as a spiritual defibrillator to jolt us back to awestruck worship of our mighty God. It will infuse our lives with HOPE because of the glorious future ahead of us, and it will call us to faithfully love and serve Jesus in the face of whatever the world may throw at us."
