“Top 10 Positive Eye-Opening Changes During Coronavirus Times,” Presented by LIFE CHANGES and Vortex Immersion; and Musical Guest, Opera Singer Lauren Lugo – Show #576

Presented By LIFE CHANGES and VORTEX IMMERSION; and Musical Guest: LAUREN LUGO

    LIFE CHANGES and VORTEX IMMERSION

Durning the Coronavirus times, there have been more positives than one can count, and each has been special and important to one person, to many, to millions. Though arguably, positive things are happening all the time, all over the world, being that the recent focus has been on so many of the obvious and maybe not so obvious negatives, a spotlight on some of the highlights that have come to our attention at LIFE CHANGES and have been brought forward by the Vortex Immersion Team, is our show tonight.

It is our trust that they will inspire, and support our faith in individuals and humanity not only in this crisis, but potentially from here on forward. May we never forget the kindness of others we are experiencing at this time and always, and pass it on, and share it in our stories for generations to come.

    LIFE CHANGES

When it comes to changes, LIFE CHANGES is setting new trends and ushering in a new paradigm, featuring conversations with experts who have either changed their lives, changed the lives of others, or are changing the world in their own little or big way.  From activist celebrities to people who have achieved extraordinary things; from spiritual leaders, futurists,  to book smart, degreed and/or doctored scientists, physicians, and scholars, hear what they have to say and be part of a conversation that matters on ways to become the new “cool,” be in the know, in the now, and flow with life’s changes.

  • Heads Up Self-Defense for Life, with Guest Debbie Love, and Musical Guest Alex Nester on The LIFE CHANGES Show #573

“Heads Up Self-Defense for Life,” with Guest, 4th Degree Black Belt and Certified Karate Instructor, Debbie Love, and Musical Guest, Singer / Songwriter Alex Nester on The LIFE CHANGES Show #573

Guest: DEBBIE LOVE and Musical Guest: ALEX NESTER

    DEBBIE LOVE

Debbie Love did not set out to become a Karate instructor or a martial artist out of sheer interest, it was out of necessity; she was compelled to learn everything she could about the subject because of a personal family tragedy that had a profound effect and would eventually change the course of her life.

Her close cousin Julie Love, near identical in size, was the victim of a violent crime in Atlanta in the summer of 1988 which was the subject of headline news. It took over a year for Julie’s remains to be found after her disappearance. Once the facts came out of what happened to Julie, it was clear she lost her life because of a simple mistake, she ran out of gas. And, even though it happened in Atlanta’s wealthiest neighborhood, it was a fatal mistake.

Debbie knew if it could happen to Julie, it could happen to her.  So she began a quest to learn self-defense but nothing seemed to work.  Knowing there had to be a better way, she enrolled in martial arts to learn from the ground up. That was almost 20 years ago.

After earning her first Black Belt, Debbie began sharing basic self-defense and escape techniques to family and friends, and quite frankly, to anyone who would listen. As her experience and skills increased so did her audience. In 2009, while working in downtown San Diego, Debbie convinced management to put on a series of six 1-one hour lunch and learn classes for the female employees working in the building.  It was a success and a huge confidence boost for those women who commute to and from work everyday.

In December 2015, Debbie returned to Atlanta where her cousin was murdered to teach a special class for family and friends.

Since then, Debbie left her 40 year career as a paralegal to devote herself full time to educating women about their safety and continues to find innovative ways to provide valuable self-defense information and instruction to women of all ages, from young girls to seniors citizens, high school and college bound girls and women who work outside the home. Each class and workshop is distinctively tailored to the audience.

Today, after almost 20 years of training, Debbie is a 4th Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor in Karate and an advocate for women’s safety.  At under 5’ and barely 100 pounds, don’t let her small size fool you; she can stop a larger opponent with relative ease.

As a frequent speaker and self-defense instructor, Debbie wants women to know that  self-defense is much more than simply learning techniques. Self-defense is not about being strong, it’s about being smart!

  • A Call to the Wilder Human Beings in Us All, with Guest Woniya Thibeault; and Musical Guest Clare Means, on The LIFE CHANGES Show #569

“A Call to the Wilder Human Beings in Us All,” with Guest, Cast Member of HISTORY Channel’s Season 6, “ALONE,” Environmental Scientist and Teacher, and the Woman Behind Buckskin Revolution, Woniya Thibeault; and Musical Guest Popular on iTunes and Periscope, Singer / Songwriter, Clare Means, on The LIFE CHANGES Show #569

Guest: WONIYA THIBEAULT; and Musical Guest: CLARE MEANS

    WONIYA THIBEAULT

My name is Woniya Thibeault, and I am the woman behind Buckskin Revolution.

A love for the natural world has always been a part of me, as has a drive to make things with my own two hands, and a longing for earlier times and more land-based lifestyles. Discovering a community of people who practiced and taught ancestral skills when I was 19 opened up my world and inspired me to devote myself to these skills. I have been studying, practicing and teaching them since the mid 1990s.

With both a Masters degree in Environmental Science and a hands on education in ancestral skills, I strive to combine knowledge of and love for the natural world with the physical skills of our human ancestors.

I have spent a lot time living off grid and incorporating wild foods and handmade goods into my daily life. I had a powerful test of my skills when I was selected as a participant for Season 6 of Alone on the History channel, where I spent 73 days living by myself in the arctic, hunting, gathering and trapping. The skills that allowed me to stay so long were not however, just the physical ones, but the mental, emotional and spiritual skills of long-term survival practices for connection, gratitude, curiosity, communication, positivity and reciprocity.

I teach a wide range of topics, but I call my business Buckskin Revolution not only because I love making, wearing, and teaching about brain tanned buckskin, but because of what it represents.

It is a reminder, a link to our human past. We can all trace our lineage back to ancestors who wore buckskin, or something very similar. It speaks to that place inside us that remembers what it feels like to know the world around us intimately, to shape the substance of our lives from the raw materials around us.  It reminds us what it is to be human and connected to the wild within and around us.

The Buckskin Revolution is not just making buckskin clothing, or harvesting wild foods or survival skills, it is about inspiring and enabling people to do more for themselves and to be freer, healthier, wilder, more connected human beings.

  • Winning Ways for Living, with Guest Kurt A. Krueger and Musical Guest Darla Fox on The LIFE CHANGES Show #567

“Winning Ways for Living,” with Guest, Author, Peak Performance Trainer, Lecturer, and 16 Medal Winner in Four International Senior Olympic Swim Championships, Kurt A. Krueger; and Musical Guest, Singer, Songwriter, Darla Fox, on The LIFE CHANGES Show #567

Guest: KURT A. KRUEGER and Musical Guest: DARLA FOX

    KURT A, KRUEGER

A native of Los Angeles, Kurt A. Krueger lives what he teaches and teaches what he lives.  He has won 16 medals in four Senior Olympic swim championships.  Mr. Krueger has taught Peak Performance Practices (PPP) around the world for elite athletes/coaches, performing artists, business people, and others.  His goal is to have everyone physically and mentally fit throughout the 21st Century.  He has been interviewed on Radio/TV and for the print media on four continents.

Mr. Krueger was an All-American swimmer at Los Angeles Valley College and is a member of their Hall of Fame for Water Polo, and he also coached numerous world-record holders for San Fernando Valley swim schools; he was a member of Glendale College and Cal St. Uni. – Los Angeles faculties of Psychology and/or Physical Education.  He has also coached soccer, football, basketball, and Track & Field. He is an internationally published author, photographer, lecturer and corporate consultant.

Mr. Krueger’s interest in Peak Performance Practices developed when he met a Master of these sciences in 1974.  His integrative learning was tested three years later when he was a passenger on a JAL plane hijacked by the Japanese Red Army terrorists.  Mr. Krueger used a PPP concentration technique he’d been practicing and found his mind relaxed and focused at the height of the crisis – the first coach passenger to speak with hijackers and ultimately the first off the plane.

Returning to America, Mr. Krueger taught history and government at an inner-city ghetto school — Crenshaw High in Los Angeles.  His mental control was again tested there when threatened twice by students carrying either a drawn knife or gun.  He peacefully settled the incidents by verbally demanding the weapons.  His clarity and ease in an intense situation once again amazed Mr. Krueger and others.  Fellow teachers recognized his ability to cope with crisis situations and requested that he instruct them in Stress Management techniques.  This ultimately led to a series of highly successful presentations in Southern California climaxing with programs at the United Nations in New York City, and Oxford Medical School (UK).

Concurrently, Mr. Krueger also began training athletes for Peak Performance.  It developed into a ‘systems’ program to strengthen a person’s body, mind and spirit.  The use of these techniques had enabled him to win numerous medals in the Senior Olympics.  Examples of some high school students improvements after just three months use of Peak Performance Practices: Greg Denby, a high jumper with a personal best of 6’6″, leapt 7’1″; Macarthur Osbourn went from a 2:01 880 yard runner to a 1:54; Anita Sood, of India, set eight National swimming records, and Bejoy Jain, in 14 days, set a National Junior Record then swam the English Channel faster than any other Asian.

Mr. Krueger founded the Institute of Sports Psychology in 1982 in Bombay and ultimately developed into an organization with four more offices in: London, Melbourne, Tokyo and Los Angeles.  The following year he founded Success Systems Inter...
