She’s written a book called Kahano The Farmer. It tells a story about an inquisitive child preferring to spend time with his Grandfather in the farm.

His occasional drive to the farm with his Grandfather pleases him the most. He learns how to work the land, feed animals and take care of the crops. While his Grandmother is affectionate but also a disciplinarian who takes care of the house. She's a three-dimensional woman who imparts wisdom to her grandson that he will find useful even long after she’s gone.

The book’s original title is Molemi yo o Bidiwang Aganang becaue it was written in Setswana and translated in nine official South African languages. The book places its characters in relatable situations where grandparents show children how to realise their full potential in reaching their dreams whilst tapping into their innermost even in unpleasant situations.

Our very own South African born Isidingo Actor, Lerato Makheta has his own views about what success is. You know him for his role as Ntando Sibeko, on the SABC 3 Soapie.

Born in Soweto, bred in New York and raised in Johannesburg, Lerato’s journey in the arts began at the tender age of 10 when he auditioned for a spot in the world renowned Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School. It was there where he was classically trained as a pianist and vocalist respectively. After graduating he then extended and completed his studies in popular music at the National School of the Arts (NSA) where he played lead roles in 2 musicals in 2001 and 2002.

Lerato was driven by a burning desire and passion to explore and contribute to the world of music and acting. Over the last 15 years Lerato has successfully juggled both music and acting, and has featured in numerous Mzansi Magic and Ekasi Stories films, such as “Vacancy” “Holes In Our Souls” and “Surprise” as a lead actor
and cameo roles in “Generations” ,“Umlilo” and a feature film, “Baby Mamas”.
