Many disabled people dread travelling on public transport because of the lack of facilities, especially for wheelchairs. Though the many municipalities have introduced bus services that cater for wheelchair users, the situation hasn’t improved. Some of these buses are not serviced regularly and wheelchair users are still faced with trauma of having to rely of few commuters to help and carry they them into the bus. We also find people who are impatient and unfair – those who refuse to give up the priority seats or those who threatened to get off the taxi, should a drive stop for a disabled person.
