Smowkey Nyembe, whose real name is Mbongiseni Nyembe was born and bred in Soweto at a place called Meadowlands. He had his first stand-up comedy show in May 2010 at Ozone Pub at the "Premium Comedy Nyts" hosted by Kedibone Mulaudzi which he got a warm welcome from the audience. He then got invited by Mashabela Galane to perform in Polokwane "Meropa Casino Comedy Wednesday" and got his first standing ovation in just two months in the game.
