NATIONAL CRIME YOUTH CRIME PREVENTION SUMMIT: 27-29 JUNE , PRETORIA

Youth Crime Prevention is a strategic and operational response towards youth criminality, where young people are both victims and perpetrators of crime. It is also a platform to trigger legislative development and policy review to reinforce protection for the youth as a high risk sector of the community. The undertone is youth development as a long term objective through enhanced economic participation and coordinated mentorship and life coaching programs. The youth generally should be encouraged to actively participate in crime prevention and societal development in realizing the ideals of Vision 2030. Youth Crime Prevention strategically will lay the foundation for developing and implementing the Junior Community Safety Fora programs through consolidation of Provincial, District and Local Municipality Safety Plans. These would also incorporate and complement the ideals of Spatial Development, Infrastructure Development Plans, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design, Reclaiming of Public Spaces and Moral Regeneration.
