October 19th will be 34 years since the death of President SAMORA MACHEL (born 29 September 1933 – 19 October 1986 died at 53 years) was a Mozambican military commander, politician and revolutionary, he served as the first President of Mozambique from the country's independence in 1975.
He died in 1986 when his presidential aircraft crashed near the Mozambican-South African border in Mbuzini Mpumalanga.

It has been reported that the government had assisted just 10,000 businesses, a fraction of the 700,000 promised by President Cyril Ramaphosa in April. Of the roughly 40,000 businesses that had applied for assistance, only 23% had been granted loan relief by government – which is 1.3% of the number promised. Researchers at Stellenbosch University (SU) found that South Africa has sufficient log resource options for a sustainable wood residential building market.

Dr Phillip Crafford from SU's Department of Forest and Wood Science says because South Africa does not have a culture of designing and building with wood, there's a need for further research that includes other impacts such GDP generation, job creation and social and economic comparisons with regard to an increase in wood-based building.

Thandi Ntuli was born in one of South Africa’s largest townships, Soshanguve in Pretoria. She comes from a lineage of rich musical heritage, being the niece of guitarist, pianist and lead vocalist of 70’s pop fusion band Harari (The Beaters), Selby Ntuli.

Since the release of her debut jazz album, “The Offering” which she released independently, Thandi has been fast making an imprint in the local jazz scene with her unique voice. “The Offering” has received critical acclaim as well as numerous awards and recognition since its release in 2014.

Quintin Lake from Cheltenham has walked the 6,600 mile (10,600 km) route in sections, going clockwise.Mr Lake has finished his walk at St Paul's Cathedral in London, where he began it in April 2015.
