The National Arts Jazz Festival in Makhanda (Grahamstown) – now in its 33rd year - where artists meet and challenge audiences to expand their expectations of the art form. 2020 faced one of the biggest problems faced by the arts world and live performances with the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic.

July is Nelson Mandela Month, the people who do great things and contribute to the communities they occupy. This year’s #PlasticFreeMzansi campaign collaborated with five designers who have made garments and accessories using waste plastic. Applying their creativity, the designers are treating it as a valuable resource and illustrating the circular design concept of keeping materials in use.

From Koe’siestes To Kneidlach is the bizarre, comedic and true story of what happens when a girl from the Cape Flats gets involved with a Jew-ish boy from Joburg’s East Rand –an online run on now until 10 July. It’s basically the story of Chantal Stanfield her husband musician RJ Benjamin on how they met and how they have had to deal with the dynamics of coming from such different backgrounds as South Africans.

The number of health-care workers lodging claims with the Compensation Fund after being infected with Covid-19 at their workplaces is increasing at an alarming rate. The fund provides compensation to employees who are injured or contract dis-eases through the course of their employment. It is financed by levies paid by employers.
