She details this in her best-selling book, The Bedside Boss - From Scrubs to Six Figures. We might not think of nurses immediately when we think of entrepreneurship, but through her organization, Chicks with Cheques, Meisha has served more than 20,000 nurses and rising entrepreneurs looking to create more self-sufficiency in the field. Nurse entrepreneurs often feel that society expects them to save everyone, except themselves, and it's time for us to encourage nurses to look out for themselves and create comfortable lives.

Meisha's own story behind becoming a nurse is a powerful testimony. She was a regular patient at her local hospital during her child and teenage years, so much so that most of the staff recognized her when she came in and knew her by name. By the age of 17, she had an open heart surgery and was on life support. Meisha became a nurse because she knows all too well what it feels like to be a patient in need, and wanted to help individuals seeking care.

At 15 my mother told me that when she learned that she was expecting me, she wanted an abortion. Feelings of rejection, abandonment and lack of acceptance unconsciously took control of most of the decisions I've made in my life; including my career. I was in a desperate search of approval and recognition. And so I invested 18 years of my life as a sales and marketing expert, trying to fit in and feel accepted. Tysha Pressley is the owner of Legacy Empowerment Services. Years ago as a young adult striving to live life on ​life’s terms Tysha was confronted with hindrances stemming from being a survivor of a dysfunctional upbringing. Precious Monét is an experienced and well-established business woman, who has mastered the art of planning and execution; which has been a huge asset to her journey thus far.
