Michael is a current orthopaedic trainee. He works hard and has a family. He has committed to his training and undertaken its challenges. It was great to listen to his description of these challenges and how he approached them. 
He enjoys time outside medicine too including tinkering in his shed, something he has always done. 

Amanda is well known and respected General Surgeon who now likes to concentrate on renal transplants. She is one of 4 surgeons in her unit that now does up to 120 transplants per year. She has also done work in Asia with various foreign aid efforts. 

Ilya has been a junior doctor at the hospital that I work at. He has progressed though a unit from medical student level to now being a registrar. It has been interesting to watch a junior doctor develop and grow. 

Jason Harvey is a hand surgeon. He has fostered over the course of a decade a practice that is well balanced toward public and private sector work. He has a strong interest in the training of registrars as they will be the next generation. Outside of medicine he enjoys sport of various types and still spends time playing sport with friends and his family. 

Kate Drummond is Melbourne base neurosurgeon who heads up a busy unit that has a lot of trauma and cancer care. She also heads up a programme that offers aid in Africa and helps teach medical personnel  in these areas. This requires a lot of work an it is a wonder she can fit this into her already busy life. This organisation is call Pangea Global Health Education and can be found at wwwpangeaghe.org. 

Tim and Johnny have appeared on the Podcast before. Both have recently been accepted onto the Orthopaedic Training Programme. This is an opportunity to see what their hopes and aspirations are at this point. It will be good to observe them over the coming years and  I plan to chat to them during each year that they are in the programme. 

Sebastien Parratte is a French Orthopaedic Surgeon who has developed and interest in robotic surgery of the knee. He has, like many others, chased a technology thread that resulted in him learning more than just about the use of robots but also things like AI. He has recently moved to the UAE for a change of pace. 

Ian Harris is an orthopaedic surgeon who has followed a very academic path. He now a predominately academic practice with interest in registry data and data analytics. He has been a strong advocate for the improving of research behind the surgical interventions that are carried out every day.

Andrew Bucknill is pelvic trauma surgeon who has managed to fit into his life many other actvitiies that most others would consider risky. Over the last 10 years he also lead a very busy othopaedic unit both with trauma and elective services. 

John Bartlett is very well known orthopaedic surgeon within the Melbourne Orthopaedic community. Has has been able to positively influence a generation of trainees and fellows visiting from overseas. While now retired, he still takes an active interest in the community to which he was so heavily involved with over the last 4 decades.
