Last week was bad for Planned Parenthood.  The Supreme Court ruled states have the authority to exclude the abortion giant from Medicaid programs.  Over ninety-seven percent of pregnant women who enter their doors have abortions.  Without Medicaid many abortion centers will close.  Pro-life pregnancy centers outnumber Planned Parenthood fifteen to one and offer true alternatives to abortion.  The Court also ruled against nationwide injunctions, widely used by Planned Parenthood to block protections for unborn babies and their mothers.  When bills were passed or President Trump signed Executive Orders curtailing abortion they’d shop for a District judge who would side with them.  Pro-abortion judges will no longer have the ability to thwart the will of the people.

I’ve been a member of the National Religious Broadcasters for twenty-six years and know Christian broadcasting is effective.  The group released a groundbreaking report showing over sixty percent of Americans like you listen to Christian content, most at least once a week.  Christian media users tend to be on the young side.  We’re bringing up the next generation.  And the reason most people tune in is to be encouraged and grow closer to Christ.  Finally, Two-thirds of the general public believe Christian media is valuable and trustworthy and Christian media leaders had a notable role in shaping the presidential election.  When it comes educating others to the life issues that’s important.  You can get more details about this report at today’s broadcast link at lifeissues.org.

As bizarre as it may sound to you and me, one of the most common arguments used by young pro-abortion advocates is the claim that the unborn child is nothing more than a parasite. This attempted justification falls flat when faced with the definition of parasite which states that a parasite is “An organism that lives and feeds on or in an organism of a different species and causes harm to its host.” The unborn baby is obviously not of another species, unless abortion advocates wish to argue that humans give birth to penguins. Regardless, the unborn baby will send fetal stem cells to the mother’s body helping to repair damaged tissue including organs. The unborn baby is a human being made in God’s image, not a parasite.

Much like Chicken Litte, many on the left have spent years claiming that the world is going to come to an end because of overpopulation. Proponents of abortion have often used this as an attempt to justify abortion as a method of population control. They attempt to apply something of a utilitarian ethic claiming that to do the most good for the most people, we must sacrifice some for the good of the many. Not only is that line of argumentation morally bankrupt, it's also predicated upon a lie. Around the world countries face a looming population collapse. One of the most common arguments used in defense of abortion is the claim that a woman should abort her child if she is not financially stable. While abortion advocates often attempt to couch their argument within a veil of compassion, the truth of their stance is quite sinister. Every human being, regardless of their financial circumstances is a child of God. Attempting to justify killing an innocent child simply because her parents are not perceived to be as well off as others is barbaric. Just as it would be unreasonable to claim that killing homeless people is “merciful” it’s equally immoral to claim that killing a child so they don’t grow up poor is acceptable. There are many options for parents that struggle financially and the pro-life movement is waiting to help them.

Throughout history some of the most infamous and evil figures the world has ever known had something in common. Moral monsters like Hitler and those who participated in chattel slavery denied the personhood of those they abused. Similarly, modern day abortion advocates who fancy themselves to be philosophers are attempting to travel that very same path. Many now accept the medical consensus that human life begins at conception, yet they deny that the living, growing, human being is a “person.” This arbitrary distinction is not science, its absurdity. When we pick and choose what members of the human race are “persons” deserving rights, the track record speaks for itself. Truth is the unborn baby is a person just like you and me.

We’ve all heard the common pro-abortion talking point “my body, my choice.” But now pro-abortion apologists go further. Many admit the unborn baby is a human being, yet insist a mother’s “absolute” right to bodily autonomy supersedes the child’s right to life. They claim no one should ever be forced to use their body or resources to sustain another life. If this logic holds, a mother could starve her two-year-old with no consequence. That’s not a world any of us would want to live in—yet it’s the exact same argument used to justify abortion. The truth of course is that the unborn baby IS a human being with a sacred right to life. Bodily autonomy is a good thing, but it is not absolute, and it does not justify taking the life of an innocent child.

Massachusetts, New Jersey, California and New York have petitioned the FDA to remove the few protections left protecting women who use the abortion pill.  Specifically, they want the FDA to no longer require certification for the prescriber, patient and pharmacy.  This would take the medical out of so-called medication abortions.  In essence it would legalize the current massive illegal distribution of dangerous chemical abortion pills.  The petition claims since “two thousand, approximately seven point five million Americans have safely used” the abortion pill.  That’s blatantly false.  A recent and the most comprehensive study on the safety of abortion pills found nearly eleven percent of women required ER visits or hospitalization.  Visit today’s broadcast link at lifeissues.org for more details.

You may have heard about the Georgia woman being kept alive on life support so her unborn baby could live.  The pregnancy made international headlines.  Chance was just eight weeks along when his mother suffered blood clots in her brain.  The decision to keep his mother Adriana alive until her baby boy could live outside the womb drew criticism.  Nevertheless, it worked and little Chance was born weighing under two pounds and is now in the NICU.  April Newkirk, his grandmother said “He’s expected to be ok.  Just keep praying for him.” Chance was born just days before his mother turned thirty-one.  She was taken off life support and died.  I hope that Chance’s life will demonstrate to the critics the decision to protect this little boy’s life was the right one.

Earlier I asked for your prayers concerning efforts to legalize assisted suicide in the United Kingdom.  It was called a done deal and prevailed by fifty-five votes on the second reading.  However, since then, support for the bill is eroding.  Several Members of Parliament who previously supported the bill have come forward to say they now oppose it.  There’s a lot to not like in the assisted suicide legislation.  Every country, state or entity that’s passed this kind of bill has quickly jettisoned so-called protections for patients.  Slowly but surely MP’s are getting the message.  But will it be enough before the third and final reading later this month?  Please keep praying.  Prayer has gotten us this far.  Get more information about global assisted suicide at life issues dog org.
