Right before I left for Bali in December, I was ready to fully quit EDM (electronic dance music). I wanted to only focus on my career as an artist, doing R&B/Soul music. But EDM flows out of me naturally and always has been my biggest money maker. I booked a one-way ticket to Bali with little money, trusting that life would guide me. But before making a final decision, I asked the universe for a sign and asked: "Should I still do EDM?" I meditated, surrendered, and waited.

Then, while walking past a music store, I heard So Far Away—my song with Martin Garrix and David Guetta—playing inside. At that moment, I knew. The universe wasn’t just giving me a sign—it was making sure I couldn’t ignore it.

In this episode, I share how this experience reminded me to trust divine guidance, recognize signs, and stay open to what life has in store—even when I have no idea what’s next. I’m finally back, after more than a year, with Life Lessons by Romy Dya. In this episode, I share why I “disappeared” and what led me to step away for so long. From chasing a dream in LA and losing everything to dealing with my parents’ divorce, struggling with money, and feeling totally lost in the Netherlands—I’ve been through a lot. But the biggest lesson I’ve learned through it all is that control is an illusion. True peace comes from surrendering and trusting that life is always guiding you where you need to be.
