Reading is so old school, why don’t we just Netflix and Chill?

Books are not that precious afterall. It’s just a collection of lessons and experiences gained by a person during his entire lifetime, not a big deal!

What’s even there in a book? Merely an insight into the thought process and lives of the most brilliant, famous and successful people to have ever breathed on this planet! So what?

Just a blabber which isn’t necessarily changing lives…

Instead of reading a book by Barack Obama and getting a second hand experience of a one to one conversation with him, why not simply meet him in person? A session with him will just cost a million bucks maybe, and that’s when you’re able to get in touch with him somehow in the first place. You can afford that, of course!

So go on, watch cute cat videos instead!

First, find a comfy nook

Sit down with the laptop

Switch it on and get ready to type

But first go get some tea

And your favourite comfy hoodie

Sit back down

Now you’re comfortable and warm

But did you leave the oven on?

Go check the oven

And fix yourself some snacks while you’re at it

Play with the cat for a few hours

Make your dinner

Maybe some more tea

Switch off the laptop and head to bed

Tomorrow you’ll definitely write that book

Wait… did you think this would be actual advice on how to write a book?? Do you not know me at all? Wowwww…

Have you ever come across a situation where you said:

“These project deadlines stress me out!”

“How do I solve this problem? Just thinking about it gives me a stress!”

We all have, right? And sometime later when we think back to the time we stressed about a thing that seemed like an elephant, now seems to be an ant in reality. Why does that happen?

That’s because stress undermines our ability to logically think and comprehend situations, hence, only adding to the problem.

But, don’t worry. I’m here with a tip to help you with it.

The things you stress about can be categorised into two:

Then what are you waiting for, solve it and get it done with. Why procrastinate and stress about the deadlines? Just start right away and things will be sorted. And if you feel a little too overwhelmed with stress already taken over your senses, pause and rest for a while. Stop right away and do things that make you happy and come back to the problem after a short break. But when I say ‘short’, I mean short. Because delaying up work will only increase your burden and stress.

If you come across a problem the solution to which isn’t in your hands, why not leave it at that? What’s the use of stressing about a thing that really can’t be helped? Your stress won’t solve it, or will it?

And if it really is very important and urgent, then ask for help. Consult. After all, you know that stressing out won’t solve it.

So whenever you feel stress taking over your senses, think things out. Understand and classify the problem in one of the two categories.

And don’t forget, bust stress with a little rest!

Once upon a time, there lived a girl, just like you. She had a normal life and a few big dreams.

She dreamt of achieving her goals, earning big, to live big.

But she dreamt of one more thing, it was a ‘Happily Ever After’ with someone special.

She’d had crushes before, and had got over them after a certain point in time, but this one was different, it won’t just leave her mind.

One moment she would be determined of not thinking of him, and the other, just a single glance of him would destroy her plans.

She had always heard people say, ‘There came a prince who came riding a horse, so charming, so kind and brave by heart, swept her off her feet and took her with him to his own kingdom.’

Even the fairytales said so! You could rarely find a fairytale with a ‘Happily Ever After’ without a prince.

Maybe that’s the reason she always dreamt of a ‘Happily Ever After’ with her own ‘Prince Charming’…

She kept waiting, she’d give guys a chance, let them break her heart, and walk away.

But one fine day, she realized that there was no Happily Ever After unless you are in terms with yourself…..

And that day, her wait was over. She no longer anticipated the arrival of her Prince Charming, her Knight in Shining Armor to come and sweep her off her feet.

Now you would ask, ‘What about her Happily Ever after?’

Then I must tell you, she did get her Happily Ever after, not with a guy, but with herself, and that my dear friends, was more than anything she could ever ask for…..

Addendum:

Then let me tell you, not every girl is a ‘Damsel in Distress’.

You’ll always find a Moana or an Elsa who’s not looking for love but have their own definitions of success…

So, beware, let them be.

Else you’ll end up with a broken heart.

And that my dear friend, is not a threat, but mere advice from a friend.

In this pre-existing pandemic, are we ready for a boost of a second one?

COVID 19, started at the end of 2019, has not yet subsided and here we have another pandemic erupting out – Depression. Beware, the two are equally dangerous!

Is it a side effect of Covid 19? More likely and less surprisingly, yes.

Is it the end of humanity then?

Everyone is busy fighting their own battles, not just against – pandemics, poverty, obsolete traditions or mindsets, or even trade wars – it’s a mix of all these that we are fighting against.

And when you need help fighting your war, it’s you who has to ask for it. No one else knows what you are going through just the way you don’t know what they are going through.

Connect with yourself, connect with others, seek out help. You surely cannot breach social distancing but the mental distancing, that can be left behind.

It’s your war and you are the warrior, remember that.
