I love Max’s views on self-love and how to actually find it. We also discuss dropping into body wisdom to release blockages, expressing ourselves on the dance floor, and being true to yourself on your journey by exploring questions like, "What is your yoga?" and "What is your meditation?"

Max emphasizes tuning in before taking substances with the question, “Am I honouring myself?” We talk about plant medicine, evaluating your relationship with substances, accepting addiction, and assessing whether substance use is serving you or hindering your goals.

He highlights the importance of getting into your body and using psychedelics as tools for expansion and connection to music and dance. Max explains how trance dance can tap into elevated states of consciousness and the value of continually using these tools until you get the lessons they offer.

We also explore how festivals combine music, art, sound, and somatic therapy, and how these elements contribute to healing and growth. Iryana shares the findings of her recent study, covering three themes: Motivation, Nature of Experiences, and Learnings. She offers advice on overcoming fears around psychedelics and emphasises the importance of harm reduction and welfare services.

In this episode, Jess aka Galactic Rainbow aka me, joins forces with BDE and her two legendary younger siblings, James and Stella, to debrief our Esoteric Festival experience, to integrate and reflect on how the doof impacted us, highlights and challenges. 

Stella and James are 18 and 21 respectively and Esoteric was their first psychedelic festival.  They share what it was like to hear psy-trance for the first time, and how Stella literally had an awakening, that brought her to tears with joy when she tapped into a new way of expressing herself.

We touch on how our relationship to doofing can change over time, as we mature and evolve, touching on the role of doof guides and doof mum energy.

Other important themes come up like the stigma and misunderstanding that people have about our scene and the fear of grasping and chasing an unattainable high. Will it ever be that good again?!

My guests reflect on how my sacred raving workshop impacted the rest of the festival and I asked them the very important question, will you keep doofing?
