It has now been nearly one year since I became a mom and WOW what a year it has been. So much has changed in my life and I’ve definitely learned things about myself and my outlook on motherhood, life, self-perception, etc. and I’m sharing those lessons with you today. 

This is just a very candid chat about various parenting things, and though I touch on a few controversial topics, my hope is that this is an inspiring and, above all, encouraging talk. Also, Zoe adds her opinions here and there!

April is such a special month- in fact, today is my birthday! I’m celebrating by recapping what was perhaps the most FUN renovation project I’ve worked on in the past two years: the home library. From hunting down the perfect bookshelves to a literal painting party to creating so many cozy nooks, I’m so pleased with the finished product!

I can’t believe I’m saying it, but spring has finally arrived. After what has felt like an eternally long and dreary winter, once again the change of season has come just in time. Spring is officially my favorite season, and it always reinvigorates me and revitalizes my creativity. Today I’m bringing some of that creativity to you!

I’m calling this episode a Part 2 as it sort of relates to one of the most popular episodes of the podcast: Episode 80 called “Taking Care of Yourself When You Feel Overwhelmed, Anxious or Burnt Out.” This is in a similar vein, but personally comes from a different headspace. Whereas Part 1 took place during a huge time of transition when I was moving into a new home, these days I’m in the midst of my first year of motherhood and am working through new stresses and, at times, sadness.

Sometimes you need to sit with your sadness, but for the times when you want to cheer up, in this episode I'm simply sharing the things that have been comforting to me.

Every Christmas is unique, but this year is so unlike any other. This year I’m a mom and it’s my little girl’s very first Christmas, which is so special! It also means that I have less time and less energy than most holiday seasons of the past.

I usually do the absolute most during the Christmas season, and while I do love the hustle and bustle, it’s draining. So this year I’m doing what’s necessary, and letting the rest go. In the place of some of that hustle, I’m enjoying slower days, mostly at home with my little family, and today I’m sharing some of those days with you. Activities, crafts, recipes, music, all the things that are making this (very different) Christmas season more restful and beautiful.

This past June I had the craziest, most surreal experience: I gave birth to my daughter. It's wild to recount everything, and that's exactly what I'm doing in this episode.
I was so fortunate to have a really positive birth experience, though not without challenges! Today I'm sharing all the ups and downs and unexpected things surrounding my labor, delivery, and early postpartum days. This whole experience has certainly been the most difficult thing I've gone through, but has been wholly worth it.
