Life on the Cut Line

Welcome to the first episode of Life on the Cut Line — a golf podcast hosted by Welsh professional golfers Owen Edwards and Jack Davidson.

We're two pros chasing the same dream of reaching the DP World Tour, but our journeys have taken us down different paths. In this first episode, we discuss the realities of professional golf away from the spotlight, from the challenges of development tours to the mental and financial demands of trying to make it at the highest level.

We cover:

• The reality of development golf: Why the standard is higher than many people realise, and how different golf can be between the lower tours and the DP World Tour.

• Making the transition from amateur to pro: The challenges of going from a structured support system to figuring things out on your own.

• Giving Welsh golf a helping hand: Why we think more could be done to prepare young Welsh golfers for professional life, and how experienced pros could help the next generation.

• Learning from the best: Jack shares his experiences working with Ian Woosnam and the lessons he took from a major champion.

• Open qualifying heartbreak: Owen talks through his experience of coming agonisingly close to qualifying for The Open Championship, and what he learned from the experience.

We'll also be sharing stories from life on tour, discussing the wider golf world and bringing on guests with their own experiences of the journey through professional golf.

No pretending to have it all figured out — just two mates talking honestly about the highs, lows and realities of trying to make it.
