This journey begins at Sydney Airport.
I'm walking through the terminal, waiting to board my flight to Phuket and thinking about what lies ahead.
I've visited Phuket before — but this time, I'm returning for a very different reason.
At 53, I've committed myself to 21 days in Thailand to train, learn and investigate what I'm still capable of physically and mentally.
Discipline. Recovery. Heat. Exhaustion. Age. Resilience.
No motivational theories.
I want real experience and real answers.
But first…I had to get there. 😂
This was also my first-ever Jetstar flight, so I genuinely didn't know what to expect.
Eventually, I landed in Phuket and made my way to the Best Western Premier Bangtao Beach Resort & Spa, which will be my home during this adventure.
Everything was going according to plan…
until I realised I'd lost my debit card.
Suddenly, my first challenge in Thailand had nothing to do with training.
I just wanted to speak to an actual human being back in Sydney — but instead, I found myself battling automated systems and AI bots. 😂
Welcome to Life: The Battlefield.
