Featuring an interview with Dr Gary Hooper.
Dr Gary Hooper Came to the United States from Australia to help, shortly after 9/11 and stayed to preach. Not one to compromise on the Gospel, in order to please men. He tells how he was raised in the Anglican church, was introduced to witchcraft as a teenager, and had a conversion experience after 9 years deeply involved in it.
We meander through topics in our interview, and pastor Gary Commented on required religious teaching in schools, and the rapid decline once it is removed. He also tells about his journey back to his wife, and into the Baptist faith to be mentored into being a pastor. Not that struggles didn't arise, but he has never looked back to his days in the occult.
Are there real dangers and power in the occult? Are things like horoscopes, or psychic hotlines safe entertainment?
Gary describes some of the real ways spiritual warfare takes place, and how it gets unintentionally used by Christians in the church. The best protection is to live a life, covered by Christ, and not giving the evil one a place to land.
Can a Christian curse another Christian? What does that look like?
Gary now claims to lean more towards being Pentecostal in his worship, but warns against superstitions and witchcraft practices that commonly sneak into that flavor of Christianity.
We briefly touch on:
* A couple of "bad" churches, and evangelists are pointed out. Still, can God work through them to save his people? Yes, but seek sound theology.
* A mention of Halloween, and a short response is given on whether it should be observed.
* Comments on the error of thinking being born into a church saves you, and relying on works.
Gary stands firm on not giving in to show support of the homosexual community, or their agenda. The exception being to love sinners, accepting them to introduce them to Jesus, and allowing him to transform their lives. There is no shame in offending someone when the Gospel is presented in truth and love. Criticism is made of the institutions that the homosexual community wants to legitimize, along with other demands from others to make Christians compromise on faith matters.
Finally, Gary testifies to the power of prayer of little old Christian ladies. He also warns of the danger of the church becoming too worldly.
