Cal Tate is the co-owner of both Emerge Gym and Oviss Group. In this episode, we unpack Cal’s tumultuous upbringing from barely staying in school, the influence of basketball and his parents on mindset, negating tertiary education and hanging around the wrong crowds to becoming a successful owner of two businesses and changing his life for the better. 

Emerge Gym has become a popular gym that many people go to. The gym has been operating for just over a year and has situated itself as one of Melbourne’s top gyms. Offering state of the art equipment and a beautiful floorspace, the gym prides itself on the culture that it has fostered - particularly through capped memberships to allow for smooth training and gym experiences. Gab is a great friend of mine, and has always been a beam of positivity and optimism since the first day I met her! This episode unpacks how Gab navigated growing up in the schooling system whilst undiagnosed with both Anxiety and Dyslexia. In addition to this, she touches on the stresses at home that has made her the person she is today.

On top of this, the legend just ran a half marathon 1 year post hip-surgery. She really is one of those people that humanises anything and shows you that you can achieve literally anything. I cannot thank her enough for her showing her vulnerability and I hope you can all appreciate the hardships she has endured to become the amazing human she is today!
