When I was asked to be a featured expert in Kristi’s book I jumped at the chance. The title says it all hints and tips on how to make the best of your life once the nest is empty. Enjoy.
The pandemic got me thinking about how we perceived others and indeed how they perceived us. Going into a new normal I believe we need to be kind to each other and make empathy a new buzz word.
A long time coming this addresses an incident that happened to me many years ago. Looking at the aftermath of violent crime and what it leaves in its wake. I am reading from my blog as this subject is so emotive for me so please forgive the odd pause.
As we come out of Lockdown I am reflecting how the stillness during it made me feel. The fact that it comes in many forms, but I somehow feel the need to give myself permission to seek it.
Giving you my take on why this generation might be as they how and perhaps how they got there. I don’t think they have it easy that’s for sure. Excuse Minty my dogs input towards the end!!
How have you reacted to Lockdown. Have you become a couch potato or like me are you relishing the time outside in what can only be described as amazingly timed good weather. In fact I recorded this on one of my daily power walks which have been a great source of motivation and headspace.
The live they wouldn’t save is summarised in a nutshell in this podcast. Talking where to find floaty summer dresses while shopping small. Also where to go on staycation when we are allowed to venture out further afield again. Where’s you happiest place in the UK?
During lockdown I have turned to exercise more than ever for my mental and physical well being. Some days are harder to get motivated than others, but the end gain is always there for me and it’s a positive part of my life. It’s where I turn to for my space, my me time.
Particularly as we are in Lockdown I have been thinking about what is or is not suitable attire. If there even is such a thing. Getting dressed in an outfit of the day has kept some sense of normality during this time. But there is no right or wrong. Just what works for you.
During Lockdown my normally empty nest has been full to the brim and I am loving it. We will never have this time together as a family again and I am very aware that this may well be coming to an end. Letting go in general can be tough, but being prepared and seeing it coming really helps. I wish I had been told it in advance.
