Today’s Bible Verse: “When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.” — Nehemiah 1:4
Nehemiah 1:4 shows us the power of a heart that responds to brokenness with prayer. Before Nehemiah took action, he took time to grieve, fast, and seek God. His leadership began not with strategy, but with surrender.

In life, there will be times when you feel like things are moving fast and others when it feels like nothing is happening at all. In these moments, ask yourself: Have I taken a step I didn’t take before, and am I moving in the direction God has for me? If the answer is yes, then you have made progress, regardless of how slow it feels.
Avoid the comparison game.
God’s plan for you does not mirror anyone else’s plan, so run the race he has given you. Even if you take longer to get to the finish line, if God has called you to it, he will make sure you arrive at your destination. Just remember it will happen in his time, so as you run, remember God is faithful. Take each step with the confidence that God is working in you even when the progress feels slow.
TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE
“The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:24
YOUR NIGHTLY PRAYER
Father,
Thank you for progress. Sometimes I feel as if everyone else is so far ahead and nothing is happening. Honestly, it makes me feel forgotten. Remind me tonight that you have not forgotten me and that your work is not always about speed, but about depth and building character. Help me appreciate where I am now so I don’t miss the lessons you want me to learn at this point. As I walk with you, let me find joy in the journey and focus on where you are taking me and not on how long it takes to get there. Let me know tonight that you are faithful and will accomplish what you set out to do. Let this be the place where my hope, trust, and confidence lie today and every day.
This I pray in Jesus’ name,
Amen.
THREE THINGS TO MEDITATE UPON
1. God is never in a hurry to accomplish things in your life because his goal is not just to help you arrive but to ensure you can stand when you get there.
2. People are all at different stages. Some are ahead of you and some behind you. Neither should affect how you feel about where you are.
3. Looking back occasionally can be a great source of encouragement because you can see how far you have come.

A Prayer for the Kitchen Table by Emily Wierenga
There is a table that holds the world together. In this, we linger at that sacred place—the table where crumbs fall into cracks, where children chew on wooden legs, where laughter and grief share the same surface.
The table where we become human… and where Christ chose to meet us.Scripture reveals a God who does not merely invite us to bring our offering—but to sit, eat, and be fed by Him.We reflect on the kitchen tables of our own lives—the places where real talk happens, where joy finally feels safe enough to laugh, where sadness is welcomed because love is present. This is where God meets us in all our mess, soup on our chins and cracks in our souls, and says, Eat. Drink. Remember Me.
Reference: Matthew 3:16
Prayer: Lord, You who are the triune God, thank You for serving me. Thank You for loving me. I long to sit with You and stare into You and know You, forever. Talk with me, laugh with me, and eat with me. I love You.

Condemnation can quietly weigh down even the most faithful believers, especially when perfectionism and performance replace grace. Romans 8:1 offers freeing truth: for those in Christ Jesus, condemnation no longer exists because Jesus already carried the full weight of sin and shame on the cross.
Highlights
Perfectionism often disguises itself as faith but leads to exhaustion and emptiness.
Guilt and shame push us away from God, while grace draws us closer.
Self-condemnation is a burden Jesus never intended believers to carry.
Romans 8:1 declares complete freedom from condemnation for those in Christ.
Jesus paid the full debt for sin—nothing more is required from us.
Our identity is found in Christ’s finished work, not our performance.
Grace is a gift to rest in, not something to strive to maintain.

Carrying the Unnecessary Weight of Condemnation
By: Emily Rose Massey
Bible Reading:
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1, ESV).
For many years, I was driven by perfectionism and the feeling that I had to work successfully or perform well in life to be loved by other people… and to be loved by God. On the outside, I looked like I had it all together- high honors throughout school, hyper-involvement in extracurricular activities, serving in any ministry I was asked to be involved in, star of the high school plays and musicals, head cheerleader, first chair clarinet player in the band, and the list goes on and on. But on the inside, I was so empty and constantly searching for true fulfillment. I knew God was there for me, but somehow, I thought I could be perfect in my own strength on my walk with Him.
Because we are human, we fail time and time again. We make a mess of things more often than not. Guilt and shame can often push us further away from God, instead of closer. For so long as a Christian, I was allowing self-condemnation to take root in my heart, and it weighed me down as I walked around carrying all of the baggage of my past sins and failures, thinking that I had to continue to strive to keep God’s forgiveness. Thankfully, today, I no longer live burdened by a work-based mentality. I find my identity in the finished work of Christ, and I want to encourage you, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, you should too. Grace is a gift
So much of life happens at full speed. We move from task to task, responsibility to responsibility, often missing the quiet gifts God places in our path. This devotional begins with a small interruption in the middle of an ordinary chore—one unexpected moment of wonder as a hummingbird appears near wildflowers. Just a few seconds of stillness became a reminder that God is present, creative, and kind. Sometimes it doesn’t take a major life event to wake our hearts up again; it can be something as small as noticing what God has made.
The devotional points us to a bigger truth: creation itself is a constant testimony to God’s goodness. Paul spoke of this when people mistakenly tried to worship him and Barnabas after a healing. He redirected their attention to the true God, reminding them that the Lord has already shown His kindness through everyday gifts like rain, harvest, and the joy that comes from being provided for. God’s care isn’t hidden—He has written evidence of His character into the world around us.
For those who follow Jesus, nature becomes more than scenery. It becomes a steady invitation to remember who God is: faithful, generous, and attentive. A leaf, a cloud, the warmth of the sun, the scent of flowers—each can pull us out of the swirl of stress and back into gratitude. When we pause to notice, we’re reminded that God is still at work, still providing, still loving, and still worthy of praise. Today’s devotional encourages us to build that pause into our rhythm—making space to marvel, to thank Him, and to let the ordinary goodness of creation restore our hearts.
Main Takeaways
God often reminds us of His presence through small, everyday moments of wonder.
Creation provides ongoing testimony to God’s kindness, provision, and care.
Pausing to notice helps interrupt stress and re-center the heart in gratitude.
Even simple gifts—rain, food, beauty—reflect God’s faithful goodness.
Wonder can lead us to worship when we choose to slow down and pay attention.
Today’s Bible Verse
“Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy” (Acts 14:17, NIV).
Your Daily Prayer
Here is a brief excerpt from today’s prayer:
“Help me to regularly take time to pause and marvel at what You have made… allowing the beauty and wonder of nature to remind me of Your love and kindness.”

In today's episode, Becket Cook breaks down the breakout HBO Max series Heated Rivalry – the steamy Canadian hockey romance topping charts and earning breathless New York Times coverage as "revolutionary." What makes a show about two rival players falling in love so emotionally overwhelming that fans are hosting watch parties and breaking down in tears? Why are critics saying this takes LGBTQ representation to a dangerous new level? From a former insider’s perspective, Cook exposes the subtle cultural shift happening on screen, connects it to Scripture, and reveals why many Christians are unknowingly falling for it. This episode is a must-watch if you care about truth in media.

What happens when you finally achieve everything you worked for only to realize it didn’t give you peace or purpose of life?
Former Navy SEAL Chad Williams opens up about the moment he reached the pinnacle of success and found himself more empty than ever. In this conversation, Chad shares how becoming a Navy SEAL, his version of “gaining the whole world”, left him spiritually broken, searching for meaning, and ultimately led him to a life-changing encounter with faith.
From the loss of his mentor Scott Helvenston, to the brutal realities of combat, to the internal war between revenge and redemption, this episode dives deep into purpose, masculinity, suffering, and what it really means to live for something bigger than yourself.
This is not a motivational talk. This is a hard, honest conversation about identity, faith, legacy, and why achievement alone will never satisfy the soul.
