  • Everyday Prayers with Million Praying Moms - A Prayer for When You Feel Alone

    A Prayer for When You Feel Alone by Emily Wierienga

    What if communion with God doesn’t begin in quiet sanctuaries—but in flour-dusted kitchens and half-finished conversations? In this episode, we’re invited into the sacred ordinary, where God’s deep desire is not productivity or perfection, but presence. From the first words of creation—“Let there be light”—to Jesus’ longing to share a meal with His disciples, Scripture reveals a God who eagerly draws near.

    Reference: Luke 10:38–42

    Prayer: O Lord, that You would want to eat with me—that You would want to commune with me. That this is the one thing that matters to You, the God of the universe. Make it the one thing that matters to me, Lord. I want to want to commune with You. Forever.

  • The Crosswalk Devotional: A Daily Devotional Chris... - Set Your Heart, Not Just Your Goals

    Setting goals for the new year often focuses on achievement, productivity, and personal growth—but Proverbs 16:3 reminds us that lasting transformation begins with surrendering our hearts to God. When we commit our plans, desires, and direction to the Lord, He shapes not only what we do but who we are becoming, aligning our goals with His purposes and power.

    Highlights

    • God is more concerned with who you are becoming than what you accomplish.

    • Committing your plans to God starts with aligning your heart with His.

    • Many goals fail when they rely on personal strength instead of God’s power.

    • The Holy Spirit works from the inside out, transforming character as goals are pursued.

    • Spiritual growth flows from becoming, not just doing.

    • Jesus shaped His disciples through relationship before responsibility.

    • God establishes plans by shaping them to fit His good purposes, even when they change.

    Set Your Heart, Not Just Your Goals
    By: Whitney Hopler

    Bible Reading:
    “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” – Proverbs 16:3, NIV

    When a new year starts, it’s natural to think about goals. You may want to set some New Year’s resolutions to start some new habits, or at least make plans for the year ahead. While it’s good to want to set and achieve new goals, it’s important to focus on more than just accomplishing a list of tasks. God wants you to focus less on doing and more on becoming.

    God cares far more about who you are than what you check off a list.

    Proverbs 16:3 highlights a simple yet significant truth: If you commit what you do to God, he will establish your plans. The key is first committing your plans to God. You can only do that if your heart is lined up with God’s heart.

    When you “commit to the LORD whatever you do,” you’re not just handing God your goals; you’re handing God your whole self. That choice opens the door for God to transform you and lead you into plans that are really the best plans for you.

    Maybe that’s why so many New Year’s resolutions fall apart a few weeks into the year. It’s hard to make much progress on goals if you’re relying only on your own limited power to achieve them. But if you’re relying on God’s unlimited power to help you achieve goals God wants for you, you’ll

  • So Much More: Scripture Meditation (Lectio Divina) - Waiting Expectantly on God | Meditation on Psalm 37:5-9

    This guided Scripture meditation is in Psalm 37 using Lectio Divina.

    Waiting on God is hard. This Psalm reminds us that God will act on our behalf – in his timing and in his ways.

    It also reminds us to not get caught up in comparison. It will only agitate us, and nothing good comes from this.

    So, take a deep breath and allow the Lord to guide you into this meditation in Psalm 37. I believe he has something just for you.

    The passages we meditated on is as follows:

    Psalm 37:5-9, CSB

    5 Commit your way to the Lord;

    trust in him, and he will act,

    6 making your righteousness shine like the dawn,

    your justice like the noonday.

    7 Be silent before the Lord and wait expectantly for him;

    do not be agitated by one who prospers in his way,

    by the person who carries out evil plans.

    8 Refrain from anger and give up your rage;

    do not be agitated—it can only bring harm.

    9 For evildoers will be destroyed,

    but those who put their hope in the Lord

    will inherit the land.

  • Dwell On These Things - "The Lamb Opens the Seventh Seal" - Revelation 8:1-5

    Some moments carry so much weight that words can’t do them justice. We’ve all experienced times like that. A diagnosis changes everything. A phone call stops you in your tracks. A moment arrives when conversation fades, and silence takes over, not because nothing matters, but because everything does.

    Revelation 8 opens with one of those moments.

    “When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour” (Revelation 8:1).

    The emphasis on silence in this verse gets my attention.  Heaven has been filled with worship, singing, thunder, and praise. Suddenly, it goes still. This isn’t awkward silence. It isn’t confusion. It’s reverence. It’s anticipation. Something decisive is about to happen.

    This silence marks a turning point during the future Tribulation period. The seal judgments have unfolded, and the seventh seal now introduces the trumpet judgments. God’s righteous judgment on a rebellious world is about to intensify. Yet even here, the focus doesn’t drift away from Jesus. The silence comes when the Lamb opens the seal.

  • Your Daily Prayer - A Prayer for Delight on Disappointing Days

    Disappointment has a way of showing up unexpectedly—sometimes through life-altering hardship, and sometimes through smaller shifts that still sting deeply. This devotional reminds us that even when our disappointments feel insignificant compared to others’ struggles, they still matter to God because they matter to us. And while we may wish disappointing days would disappear completely, Scripture is honest that trouble is part of life. But so is God’s steady presence.

    One of the most comforting truths offered here is that disappointment is not proof that God is disappointed in us. It isn’t a sign that we’ve done something wrong or that we’ve fallen out of favor. Instead, God knows exactly where we are, and He has not abandoned us in the space we’re in. The devotional points to Psalm 18:19 as a reminder that God rescues and provides refuge because He delights in His children. That means even when circumstances feel cramped, heavy, or discouraging, God can still lead us into a “spacious place”—a place where peace is present, where protection is real, and where we can still see His blessings at work.

    God’s delight in us is constant. And in return, He invites us to find our delight in Him—even on disappointing days. That doesn’t mean ignoring sorrow or forcing happiness. It means turning toward the One who remains faithful, who offers refuge in the middle of our letdowns, and who is guiding us toward a future shaped by His goodness. Even in disappointment, we are never outside God’s care, His plan, or His delight.

    Main Takeaways

    • Disappointment is part of life, but it is never proof that God is disappointed in you.

    • God is not surprised by your circumstances—He is present and active in them.

    • The Lord offers refuge and rescue in the very middle of discouragement.

    • God delights in you consistently, even when your joy feels threatened.

    • You can find true delight in God’s presence, even on hard days.
