    Pray for Something Awesome

    By: Whitney Hopler

    Bible Reading:

“Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.” – Habakkuk 3:2, NIV

I’ll never forget the day my mother told me that she had seen an angel! After 23 years of praying for her to come to faith in God, I had grown frustrated wondering if God would ever answer my prayers. Mom eventually did come to believe in God, but she still struggled to believe that God would love her enough to save her. She still hadn’t started a relationship with God by the time she was diagnosed with leukemia and hospitalized – fighting both the blood cancer and pneumonia in her lungs. But one night, she saw an angel appear in heavenly form and send glowing bits of energy into her chest. The next day, tests revealed that the leukemia was in remission and the pneumonia was gone! But Mom’s physical healing wasn’t the biggest miracle. What was even more miraculous was that God had convinced Mom he loved her personally by sending her one of his heavenly messengers to minister to her. Mom was in awe of God’s deeds, and she finally placed her faith in him.

The wonderful way God helped Mom showed me that God is just as willing to do miracles today as he was in earlier times. Habakkuk 3:2 reminds us that, when we think about God’s famous miracles, we can ask God to do something awesome in our own lives right now. When we face big problems – like health struggles, broken relationships, or money worries – we pray small prayers too ofte

  • Your Daily Prayer - A Prayer to Abide in the Vine

Seasons of anxiety and depression can leave us feeling weak, broken, and even distant from God. Yet, as our daily prayer and devotional from Emily Rose Massey reminds us, these struggles do not define our faith or separate us from God’s presence. In fact, suffering can be the very place where our roots in Christ grow deeper.

Jesus calls us to abide in Him as the true Vine. Just as branches cannot bear fruit without staying connected to the vine, neither can we thrive apart from Him. Prayer and Scripture become lifelines—keeping us grounded in His peace, truth, and strength when the world feels overwhelming.

Like trees in winter whose roots grow deeper underground, our times of hardship can press us closer to the heart of God. Instead of yielding to despair or turning to substitutes for comfort, we can remain connected to Christ, the only source of lasting life and peace. In Him, we find the strength to endure, the hope to carry on, and the joy of knowing we are never alone.

    Today's Bible Reading:

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:4-5, ESV

    Key Takeaways

    • Abiding in Christ is essential—apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

    • Seasons of suffering can deepen our spiritual roots and strengthen our faith.

    • Prayer and Scripture are vital lifelines that keep us connected to Jesus.

    • The enemy seeks to isolate us, but Christ sustains us through every trial.

    Let’s Pray Together

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me new life in Your Son, Jesus. Help me to abide in You daily and hold fast to the peace You bring. Deepen my roots in You during seasons of suffering, and keep me connected to Your love and strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • Your Nightly Prayer: Evening Prayers for Christian... - Lord, I'm Afraid to Hope Again

Disappointment cuts deep. Whether it comes through broken trust, strained relationships, or unmet expectations, our natural response is often to pull back—to protect our hearts with control, silence, or distance. Tonight's prayer and devotional on Romans 15:13 offers us a better way: to place our trust not in perfection or outcomes, but in the God of hope.

Parenting and relationships can test this truth daily. When trust is broken, fear often drives our reactions. But fear only multiplies anxiety, while faith opens the door to restoration. Just as God extends second chances to us without tallying our failures, we too can mirror His mercy by leaving room for redemption.

Hope isn’t about ignoring hurt or skipping accountability. It’s about believing that God is still writing the story—even when things feel broken. He calls us to respond not out of fear but out of faith, letting His Spirit fill us with joy and peace so we can extend hope, even in hard places.

    Tonight’s Scripture: Romans 15:13

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

    Your Nightly Prayer

    Lord,
In my disappointment, help me not to reach for control but to respond with Your wisdom. My heart longs to parent and love out of faith, not fear. I surrender anger, frustration, and regret. Fill me with joy and peace as I trust You. May I see my child—and others in my life—not through the lens of failure, but through Your mercy. Let Your Spirit renew my hope tonight.
    Amen.

    Three Things to Meditate Upon

    1. What unspoken messages might your child—or someone close to you—be receiving from your disappointment?

    2. Reflect on your responses: have they been marked by control, withdrawal, silence, or grace?

    3. Are you trusting in another person’s behavior to reassure you, or in God’s ability to redeem and restore?

    Calls to Action

    • ✨ Tonight, write down one disappointment you’ve been holding onto. Pray Romans 15:13 over it, surrendering it back to God.

    • Share hope with someone who may be struggling—remind them that their story isn’t over.

"Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone." — Deuteronomy 34:7

Deuteronomy 34:7 highlights the remarkable close of Moses’ life. At 120 years old, his strength and vision remained, a testament not just to his physical endurance but to God’s sustaining power throughout his calling.
