3 Yohanes  Ini adalah surat ketiga Rasul Yohanes. Ini adalah suatu surat pujian dan surat teguran. Yohanes semakin peribadi. Dia memuji mereka yang layak, dan menegur orang yang bercakap dan melakukan kejahatan terutama yang melukai tubuh Kristus. 

Jelas sekali, Tuhan mahu kita meniru yang baik dan menolak yang jahat. Apakah yang akan Yohanes tulis tentang anda?

3 John  This is the third epistle of the Apostle John. This is a commendation letter and a condemnation letter. John’s getting more personal. He praises those who deserve, and rebuke the one who speaks and does evil especially when it hurts the body of Christ.

Clearly, God wants us to imitate what is good and reject what is evil. What would John write about you if he is writing about you?

2 Yohanes  Ini adalah surat kedua Rasul Yohanes. Dia terus menulis mengikut tema 1 Yohanes, di mana dia telah menulis dengan panjang lebar mengenai kebenaran dan kepentingannya. Dalam surat ini, dia memberikan perhatian khusus kepada sekumpulan orang percaya yang kecil, keluarga tertentu, mungkin gereja yang bertemu rumah. Dia sangat bimbang bahawa jemaat Tuhan mungkin telah menerima penyesat masuk ke dalam rumah dan keluarga mereka. Jika itu berlaku, mereka akan kehilangan semua hasil daripada kerja kebenaran dalam hidup mereka. Akibatnya, mereka akan menghadapi kerosakan kebenaran (truth decay).

2 John  This is the second epistle of the Apostle John. He continues writing along the themes of 1 John, where he has written at length regarding the truth and its importance. In this letter, he give specific attention to a smaller group of people, a particular family, perhaps a house church. He has great concern that God's people may have welcomed the deceivers into their homes. If that happens, they will lose all the fruits from the workings of the truth in their lives. As a result, they will face truth decay.

1 John 5:13-21 John puts in greater emphasis on his key messages as he penned his last words for this letter. His ultimate desire is so that we really KNOW God. For anything short of that, we will surely fall into the devil’s traps. John really hopes that we remain (meno) in Christ.

1 Yohanes 4:7-21 Anda akan memperhatikan bahwa Yohanes suka mengulangi dirinya sendiri. Dia mengulangi subjek kasih lagi. Kita telah berbicara tentang "Mengasihi adalah Melihat" dan "Mengasihi adalah Hidup." Yohanes membawanya ke tahap yang lebih tinggi, "Mengasihi adalah menjadi seperti Yesus." Dia membuatnya lebih praktikal.

Sering kali kita lupa bahwa apabila kita berkata diri kita seorang Kristen, kita sebenarnya mengatakan bahwa kita adalah "pengikut Kristus."  Artinya, kita seharusnya menjadi seperti Yesus. Dan inti dari kehidupan Yesus adalah KASIH. Lain kata, ketika kita tidak mengasihi orang lain, kita berhenti menjadi seorang Kristen. Ini, adalah intisari dari apa yang Yohanes katakan kepada kita dalam teks ini. 

Berita baiknya, hidup kita akan dipenuhi dengan keindahan apabila kasih benar-benar berakar dalam hidup kita. Inilah keindahan yang saya sangat yakin anda ingin miliki.

1 John 4:7-21 You would noticed that John likes to repeat himself. He is repeating the subject of love again. We've talked about "To Love is to See" and "To Love is to Live." John is taking it to the next level, "To Love is to be Like Jesus." He is making it even more practical now. 

Often times we forget that when we call ourselves a Christian, we are actually saying that we are "a follower of Christ." Means, we are supposed to be like Jesus. And the essence of Jesus's life is LOVE. Lack of a better word, when we don't love others, we cease to be a Christian. This, is the very essence of what John is telling us in this text.

The good news is, our lives will be filled with beauty when love really takes root in our lives. This, is the beauty I am very sure that you would desire to have.
