Everything God calls us to do comes from the fact that He has rescued us – and gives us purpose! It’s worth pausing to reflect on this:
We can wait in expectation (or patience) because He WILL rescue us!Reviews frequently use the top spec of (for example) a car to base their evaluation on. But God views US as His top spec! People will see us, and put their trust in God. Wow!He removes our blemishes, reconciles us to Himself, makes us acceptable in His sight, and He frees us from accusation. The devil is the source of all accusation (Rev 12:10). When accusation is exposed to the light, its power is broken, and we’re freed… IF we continue to live in faith (Colossians 1:23)
How do we continue to standing firm? (Psalm 40: 3-5)
Trust…and continue to trust in GodPut our confidence in HimEmbrace the plans He has for our livesRemember all the things He has done with a spirit and attitude of thankfulnessGod has plans (or imaginations) for our life. But it’s for us to continue to nurture these with Him. Just like babies maturing into adults via a healthy relationship with their parents, we need to make sure that we don’t get ‘locked in’ to specific, temporal plans – because they should develop. They might fail (like Peter walking on the water), but Jesus will be there. And the best way to mature is always by asking God how to fulfil them!
Psalm 40: 6-8 Growing up in God means ‘having His instructions written on our hearts.’
