  • Jesus Brought People Together

Grace without truth becomes powerless. Truth without grace becomes a harsh taskmaster. Jesus held grace and truth together completely in his person. This quality allowed him to bring people together and to bring people to God. Our world feels more divided than ever, but Jesus calls us to keep bringing people together so they can be connected with him. By exploring how Jesus connected and changed the life of one person in Luke 19, let’s explore how we can keep bringing people together and introducing them to Jesus.

  • Jesus Placed People Above His Agenda

As we read through the gospels, it’s interesting to see how often Jesus was on His way to do something when he was interrupted by someone who wanted his attention. In fact, much of Jesus’ ministry involved interruptions. Yet, He always responded positively and was able to put people above his agenda. We’ll discuss some of these examples from Jesus’ ministry, why this is often difficult for us to do, and how we can get better at putting people above our own agendas.

  • Jesus Embraced Authenticity

Leadership is a double-edged sword. When you lead, you must cut through the lesser important ideas with hopes of guiding those in your charge towards what is most important. Simultaneously, you as the leader must cut through your own ego and selfish motives to accomplish a greater goal without compromising your own values in the process. Today, we will look at a couple of leaders and the different perspectives they employ as they face their own internal challenges. Jesus presents to us the challenge of leading from authenticity even when we all are tempted to put on a mask and hide.

  • Jesus Acknowledged His Humanity

Jesus modeled a beautiful example for us on how to be aware of our humanness. He was the incarnate Son of God, Emmanuel, God with us in human form. He dwelt among us. He experienced every aspect of humanity so that he could understand what it means for us to live in this mortal body. He became hungry, thirsty, and tired. He was tempted in every way, yet without sin. He never hid his humanness. he asked his Father for help, as He also longed for support from his disciples. Following Jesus' steps, we can become a High Road Leader.
