Sit back and think, Life’s a great laugh

Perhaps, the best of them all,

When the insides shake, then comes the bellyache

It matters not how short nor how tall.

It’s cathartic, it’s uplifting, it’s tearful too

It cleanses the mind, purifies the soul,

When dissipation is the thought of the day

A laugh makes you feel more than whole.

Spontaneous or engineered, matters not the least

Laughter is the very spice of life,

Nothing more contagious, the best infection of all

Soothes as does balm and splits as does the knife.

The best medicine they say, no swallow, no chew

Let it flow, let it gurgle or guffaw,

When you’re gripped by it you’ll never ever know

If your hand has a hand or a pretty paw.

Laugh at Life and she’ll laugh with you

Chased as she is by demise,

The closest of friends, enemies if you like

They never shake hands nor lock eyes.
