15.03.2021 - On Monday, 15 March 2021 TC spoke to David the national director of the South African Informal Traders Association (SAITA), a registered NPC which promotes the development and advancement of the South African Informal Sector ensuring that their members are recognised as valuable contributors to the South African economy. The conversation was aimed at announcing the SAITA Business Person of the Year 2021 Competition; which is a 7-month campaign there will be various rounds to the competition, with entrants moving to the next round upon completion of deliverables. It is an incredible opportunity for informal traders - there are also cash prizes to be won.

22.02.2021 - On Lifestyle TC had a conversation with Mama' Bongi and her mentor Julia, Mama'Bongi make the best choc chip cookies in Town! What makes her happy is to seeing other people happy when they are enjoying the cookies. Mama' Bongi works from the kitchen at Julias’s office in Wynberg Chelsea (which is a house). Besides making yummy cookies she also works for Amazing Spaces (co-working space). Mama'Bongis cookie business has enabled her to send money home to her children (who she had to leave in Zimbabwe). Her dream has always been to be a teacher and the cookie business allows her to teach others to cook with her. She is now able to improve her kids’ lives as well as those around her. For Mama' Bongi this is a dream come true as she has always loved cooking. Julia has played a significant role in coaching Mama'Bongi and sharing her knowledge about running a business with her.

15.02.2021 - Jenine Henriques is from the Cape Flats. She is a strategist and entrepreneur, the founder of P3 Consulting Pty Ltd and Insynch Events CC, established in 2014 and 2010 respectively. She holds the position of CEO within P3 Consulting and is the sole proprietor of Insynch Events. Practically, she has over 28 years’ experience in human capital management, process design, business management and 26 years’ experience in events co-ordinating. Academically, she holds a B Tech degree in Human Resource Management, Bridging Honours in Industrial Psychology and Master’s degree in People Management

26.10.2020 - TC spoke to Roscoe Williams(Programme Manager) at Read to Rise a non-profit organisation committed to promoting youth literacy in schools in South Africa's under-resourced communities. As the name indicates, they firmly believe that children need to read in order to rise in their personal development and contribution to society. Children who love reading, excel at school and go on to become constructive members of society. It all starts with reading. They aim to address the troubling reality that young children in our communities are not reading as much as they require for their educational development. Children in the foundational phase should be reading around 40 books per year; in under-resourced communities children are reading only 1 to 2 books per year.

14.09.2020 - Nelson Mapande - New ventures in the midst of Covid-19 "Candle Collective" An experienced tiler quit his job in January 2020 to start a new career within tourism in Cape Town. He enrolled for a Culture Tourist Guide certification at the Livingstone Tourism Academy and completed his course in the first week of February.

In mid-March lockdown came and my plans for tourism were put on hold indefinitely. The construction industry slowed down to a stop and I had no more income and no plans. He learnt how to make candles during lockdown; Nelson started recycling used candles and candles people would donate to him; he started making beautiful new ones. He has learnt that when life gives you lemons one must make lemonade.
