What does it take to see the fulfilment of God's calling in your life? Take a look at Elisha (1 Kings 18:19-21 and 2 Kings 2) as he followed Elijah with a determination to inherit the same spirit and power. (Apologies for poor audio quality…)

STANDING in the strength, power and authority of the Spirit of Christ. The battles that happen in life are not primarily physical in origin. They originate in the spiritual realm. We need to be reminded that victories are won as we learn to stand firm against the spiritual forces that come against us.

WALKING - living free and powerful. Instead of living by a list of rules because we "have to", we now are able to respond to the love God puts in our hearts - a free and willing obedience to Him founded on trust.

WALKING - living for God. What does it mean to "live a life worthy of your calling"? Following the recognition of our being seated with Christ we are now able to live like Jesus and be His representatives in this world.

SITTING on the throne of heaven with Christ. All of the life we have in Jesus is founded on His finished work on the cross, He has seated us with Him on the same throne in Heaven. As he has declared "It is finished!" and been given the place of ultimate authority in Heaven and on Earth, so too we can now rest by faith in Him. All of the Christian life begins with this position of REST.

Jesus gives us love for lost and broken people. (Apologies for the poor audio levels and background noise.)

Jesus sets out on a mission to rescue a man under heavy demon oppression and start a missionary work in the Gerasene region. A storm arises in opposition to Jesus crossing over to fulfil his purpose for the demonised man. Nothing can prevent Jesus from fulfilling his mission to set people free! But even though there was a great deliverance and healing work not everyone was happy and welcoming to Jesus.

It's so easy to slip into working by a formula rather than living in a relationship. Hebrews tells us to listen to God, not harden our heart, and to always respond to what the Spirit is saying.

Angels sing "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty. The whole earth is filled with His glory." Did you know that we are surrounded by light and energy, but light only becomes visible when it shines upon something. So it is with the glory of God. The world is literally filled with the glory of Jesus, and we who know him reflect His glory. For those who are not facing the light source and can't see Him, it is "children of the light" who reflect his glory and who display the light for all the world to see.

Psalm 84 presents for us a journey of longing to be nearer to God, to have greater understanding of His heart and greater experience of His glory. He gives us grace and glory!
