In this second episode of Lift the Silence, my friend shares the moment she discovered that 13 members of her family — including one of her nieces as young as three — had been killed in a single bombstrike in the governorate of Deir al-Balah in Gaza. All were innocent civilians, trapped in a place they loved but could never leave. Over 20 minutes, we trace how the rules of war were ignored, and how a family was quietly erased.
