The boy-child campaign is one that is relatively new on the scene. The  world has recognized the fact that we cannot only focus on the girl child  while neglecting the boy- child and expect that we would have a balanced  society. While the world has always been predominantly patriarchal, it would be  interesting to note that this is so because of the values that have been  taught and passed down from generation to generation. Be that as it may,  there have been some toxic male values passed down as well. And at the  end of the day, we have the groomed girls, encountering the ungroomed  boys and it is almost like an exercise in futility. The goal is to achieve true  gender-equality in the world. What if we raise our boys the same way we raise our girls. What if we  approach both genders from the view point of humanity rather than gender  at first. What might we achieve as a people?
