This week we step into Romans 9–11, where Paul lifts our eyes from our personal story to the larger story God has been writing since the beginning. These chapters remind us that God’s sovereignty isn’t cold control — it’s mercy preserving His promise, grace inviting our response, and faithfulness finishing what our strength never could. Even when the storyline feels uncertain, God has not lost the plot. He chooses with purpose, He invites with open arms, and He completes what He starts. As we move toward Christmas, we remember that the birth of Jesus is the ultimate proof that God keeps His promises. Because He holds the story, we can obey the Spirit today with confidence and trust Him with every part of our tomorrow.

This Sunday we step into Romans 8—one of the most freeing, hope-filled chapters in the entire Bible. After three weeks of seeing our need for grace, the gift of salvation, and the reality of the reflection war inside us, Romans 8 shows us the power we were missing. The Holy Spirit doesn’t just save us; He keeps us. He draws us back when we drift, strengthens us when we’re weak, and empowers us to stay aligned with Jesus. If Romans 7 revealed the struggle, Romans 8 reveals the wind. Come discover the power of the Spirit—the power to stay, the power to stand, and the power to live free.

This week we stepped into Romans 5 through 7, where Paul shows us why the old reflection still tries to chase us even after we’ve been made right with God. The grace that saved us is the same grace that changes us — not by grinding, but by realigning. As we unpacked the mirror illustration again, we discovered that Jesus stands in front of our reflection even when we drift, even when others fail us, and even when we forget who we are. Sanctification is not perfection; it’s alignment. It’s learning to correct misbeliefs, embrace truth, and stay behind Jesus’ reflection as He stands before the Father, interceding for us. This changes everything about how we see sin, ourselves, and the people around us.

In Week 2 of This Changes Everything, we move from the mirror that tells the truth to the grace that restores the reflection. Romans 3–5 shows us what we could never fix on our own and reveals the gift Jesus freely gives — righteousness, peace, and hope. Salvation isn’t a paycheck we earn; it’s a gift we unwrap by faith. When we stop angling the mirror and stand behind Jesus, everything changes — our identity, our peace, and the way we see others.

Every story of grace begins with a mirror. Romans opens by showing us the truth about sin—not to shame us, but to reveal what Jesus stepped into. He didn’t copy our sin; He copied our experience. He felt our struggle, carried our shame, and faced the distance of every God-less moment so He could forge redemption from within Himself. When we see that clearly, grace stops being theory and becomes the power that restores the reflection we were always meant to see.
