Robert Murray McCheyne, the great Scottish prayer warrior, said that we must "Learn that urgency in prayer does not so much consist in vehement pleading as in vehement believing." Prayer is good. Believing that you receive when you pray is best. It's perfect Bible order because it's the way Jesus taught us to obtain answers to prayer.

Divine healing is better for your life, that's not only a Bible fact, it's an earthly fact too. A survey conducted by the American Academy of Family Physicians shows that ninety-nine percent of doctors believe a relationship exists between faith and physical healing. The Bible gives us an understanding of what divine healing is and what it isn't. Understanding the difference - That's our focus on this week's Light On Life.

It's vitally important to expose Satan as the devil. The New York Times, in reporting on a survey by the Barna Group, noted that 2/3rds of Americans don't believe the devil is a living entity. Sixty-two percent of those polled said that Satan was "not a living being, but is a symbol of evil." The devil is real folks - very real and very active on planet earth. It's vitally important to expose Satan in all of his works. Revelation 12:7-10 gives us some of the titles of Satan. In those names, his attributes can be known. Just like you can know God by his names, you can become wiser about your enemy by understanding his names. In this week's Light on Life podcast, we take a look at and expose the enemy by his name, Satan the serpent.

Some people think there is no Satan. Once there was a boxer who was being badly beaten. Battered, he leaned over the ropes and said to his trainer, "Throw in the towel! This guy is killing me!" The trainer said, "Oh, no, he's not. He's not even hitting you. He hasn't laid a glove on you!" At that point, the boxer wiped the blood away from his eye and said, "Well, then, I wish you'd watch that referee. Somebody is sure hitting me!" Exposing Satan the Dragon, that's our focus on this week's Light on Life.

One of the wonderful opportunities we have when we read any of the 4 gospels, is a chance to see Jesus live life on planet earth. We are encouraged in the Word, to emulate Him, to copy Him, to move as He moved, and to overcome as He overcame. The first 18 verses of John is known as the Prologue. It's an introduction to who Jesus is. What do we learn about Jesus, and how does that knowledge help us to fulfill God's plan for our lives? That's what we are going to look at in this week's Light on Life.

It is crucial, as we look to Jesus, that we understand that we view Him not only as Savior but also as King. Jesus the Savior is the same as Jesus the Messiah is the same as Jesus the King. In today's podcast, we are going to take a look at the concept of Jesus as King: 'Why Jesus Is the Powerful and Blessed King' — that's our focus on this week's Light on Life.
