Light on SermonAudio

Even though we know intellectually that we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, we don't always live in the light of that reality. We, as a church, aspire to be one that resists the temptation to trust in our own strength and that serves with the strength that only God can provide.

We being with a statement from the new President of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) regarding pastors speaking out on "politics". We are NOT affiliated with the SBC, but we welcome the renewed interest in calling pastors to PASTOR and not be hirelings. We also read our own Statement of Purpose and then... This sermon explores the divine order and intentionality evident in the first four days of creation as described in Genesis. The speaker highlights how God established structure through the separation of light from darkness, waters from land, and the placement of celestial bodies, emphasizing that these acts reflect a God who is purposeful rather than random. By examining scientific details such as atmospheric composition and planetary mechanics, the message illustrates that God's creation is designed to sustain life and reveal His glory. The central theological application focuses on the concept of separation, urging believers to distinguish themselves from the world in order to reflect God's character and purpose. Ultimately, the sermon presents creation as a testament to God's sovereignty, inviting listeners to find comfort and direction in the stability and beauty He has established.

Leviticus 24 is the relational heartbeat of the book, depicting the believer's permanent dwelling in God's holy presence. The golden lamp-stand serves as a symbol of God's life-giving light shining upon His people, who are represented by the twelve loaves of bread. This is the blessing of God's sacred presence. But there is also a dire warning in Leviticus 24. Those who live in His sacred presence should beware of profaning His sacred name.
