  • Joy in the City
Acts 8 reminds us of the persecution initiated against the church in Jerusalem by Saul of Tarsus. Because of it, the church was scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Philip went down to a city in Samaria and what great blessing occurred! Out of darkness and deception revelation comes - light through the preached word. Luke tells us, "There was great joy in that city." But how? The message was straightforward - Philip preached Christ. Many believed, which was the way to salvation in Acts. They bowed the knee to the King and came to know power through the Holy Spirit, receiving salvation as a gift – Peter affirmed this to Simon. These are the blessings which brought such joy. Have you also experienced this joy?

  • Halloween and the Defeated Power of Darkness
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity [fear], but of power and love and discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 Believers live in the Power of Light in Jesus Christ. Believers have passed from spiritual death to spiritual life in Jesus Christ. The Bible speaks about the transformation from darkness to light, emphasizing that Jesus is the light of the world. For example, John 12:46 states, "I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness." John 5:24 says, "Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life." "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me" (Psalm 23:4) reassures believers that they need not fear death, as God's presence provides comfort and strength. Additionally, "Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul" (Matthew 10:28) emphasizes the importance of focusing on spiritual safety over physical threats.

  • It Is Your Life!
It Is Your Life! The Life-Giving Word, the Witness of Our Wisdom, and the Wonder of Deuteronomy Primary Scripture: Deuteronomy 4:5–8; 6:20–25; 32:44–47 This message explores the life-giving power of God's Word through the book of Deuteronomy, emphasizing that divine revelation was never intended merely to inform God's people but to transform their lives and make His wisdom visible to the world around them. As Moses prepares a new generation of Israelites to enter the promised land, he reminds them of God's past faithfulness, the consequences of unbelief, the goodness of His commandments, and the importance of trusting His promises. At the heart of the message stands Deuteronomy 32:47: "For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life." Through illustrations of Peter walking on water, the bronze serpent in the wilderness, the three Hebrew men in the fiery furnace, and Jesus' victory over sin and death, the message reveals that God's provision is greater than the circumstances threatening His people. He does not always remove the storms, temptations, or trials, but He provides everything necessary for His people to overcome through faith and dependence upon Him. Our victory is not found in the absence of trouble but in the presence, promises, and power of Jesus Christ. Moses teaches that when God's Word is carefully received, believed, and obeyed, it produces wisdom and understanding that others can recognize. Deuteronomy 4:6 reveals that the nations would observe the distinctive lives of God's people and acknowledge His wisdom at work among them. This same principle applies to followers of Jesus today. As the Holy Spirit produces His fruit in our lives, o
