Mo Wine - Wine, Mishaps and More

Lighten Up Loureiro

Listen Later

Tonight we are tasting the 2019 Passaros from Anselmo Mendes. Loureiro is a white wine grape from Portugal in the Northern region of Portugal.

Here is a fun fact, Portugal has 350 different indigenous wine varietals. Did you know that? I think that is pretty cool. This wine is very zippy, full of mouth-puckering acidity and a freshness that can only be associated with a warm breeze on a summer night. What I love about this wine is that there are no tannins in this wine. Can you imagine tannins on top of that acidity in white wine? Ain't nobody got time for that.

This is a very young, light-bodied wine that I can only see being paired with Sushi or some sort of fish dish. I love the light lemon hue of the wine and it has just the right amount of length on the finish. Just beautiful at a price point of around $14 or so. Don't miss the opportunity to try this wine. It is lower in alcohol at around 12%, which is just fine for white wine.
