To be a follower of Christ does not release us from unpleasant and challenging situations. The question I need to ask myself is, do my relationships reflect Christlike character? As believers we ought to take the high road, which is applying godly standards in the circumstances we find ourselves in. Lighthouse Church will bear a greater witness to the town of Amherstburg, when we are being transformed and changed by the word of God, into Christ's likeness. 

Leaders can make or break a church. What makes leadership such a big responsibility? One part of the answer is implicit in 1 Timothy 5:17-25. The importance of the congregation's trust in its leadership. A member's mistakes may affect only the member, but an elder's mistakes affect the whole church. Truthfully, if a church is to continue to exist and to carry out its God-given task, it must support and trust its leadership. God has laid out these specifics in his word. We'll study them in this week's podcast from Lighthouse Amherstburg.

In 1 Timothy 5:1-16, Paul teaches us how we should be treating people in the church. Just as families care for one another, we as the church family need to care for one another within the church body. In this passage we look at two of those groups of people within the church body. Those who need guidance or correction, which is never an easy thing to do. We'll also examine how we can look after the widows and those in need. In this week's message, Pastor Adrian walks us through the gentle ways we can approach the challenge of rebuking each other when needed, and how we can help and look after those in need.

Life is a series of choices. The question is, are we men making the right ones? Our choices will have impact for generations. What we do will influence those around us for good or bad. We are to live our lives for the glory of God and bring honor to Him. We are not to be narcissistic in our thinking but rather servant leaders.
