The Posture of Worship

We often talk about how God expresses His love for us. The cross is the single most powerful expression of love in history. But have you ever wondered how God receives love? What action or expression ministers most powerfully to Him? That’s what we will explore today.

God commanded us not to worship anything but Him. While this might seem self-serving, as if God was merely concerned with keeping the focus on himself, it’s actually far more loving and protective of us. Today, we will examine the negative repercussions of misdirected worship.

When it comes to worship, we all have preferences and we can be pretty outspoken about those preferences. But when we make worship about our tastes, we take the focus off of the rightful recipient of our worship and make it about us. And that’s when our worship becomes idolatry.
