Limiting beliefs can drastically restrict our lives and impact the potential for joy. These beliefs involve the annoying, negative self-talk that clangs around our brains. Examples include, "I'm too old to do something different." "I don't have the right degree for that." "I'm too boring to live in a cool city." "I'm never going to find true love." "I'm not good enough." "I'm not smart enough." "I'm not good-looking enough." And so on and so forth. On today's episode, we explore the different types of limiting beliefs and then discuss ways to work through them. Beth Sanderson Hooper joins me for part of the episode. She and I talk about a coaching session between the two of us where she helped me work through a limiting belief. She also shares some exciting news about an upcoming summer program.
