If you had to brainstorm a list of the qualities you believe to be most sought after in leadership by Chinese employees, what would you include? How about responsible? Motivational? Caring? Powerful? How might you rank them? I sat with Morry Morgan, co-founder of ClarkMorgan, and learned about a fascinating survey they conducted all around China to dig to the foundation of this question: What qualities are most valued in leadership in China? The answers may surprise you! Tune in to hear the top 10 list and see how it compares to the same question asked of Australian leaders. Would you agree that there is unlimited power in your voice? Let's be honest, words and more pointedly, how you say those words, can have a massive impact on the delivery of your message. How many talks have you sat through where the content was solid, but the presenter's voice lulled you into a sleep or simply grated against your soul? How much of their actual message do you remember? I know you don't want to be that kind of presenter and in this episode, Jeff gives you four very simple, very effective ways to use your voice to keep the audience engaged with your presentation—from start to finish! How many times have you said or heard, “It’s so much easier back home!” It is? Really? Or are you living in a fantasy world where your former life in your home country was seemingly perfect, with no challenges, no tough days, no arguments, no disappointments and no setbacks. At least, NOTHING compared to what you’re experiencing in China! Make no qualms about it, it’s super easy to get caught in the negativity trap about your new host country. It's the classic blame game, where China is unfairly criticized for circumstances that aren’t actually its fault. In this episode of Adjusting Well to life in China, we’ll dive into negativity, find its root and learn a couple of easy ways to battle it in our day to day. As an aside, of course, there are challenges that are legitimately China specific that get us down and we’ll talk about those, too. For more on this episode and more, visit www.limitlesslaowai.com/adjustingwell and as always, if I can help in anyway shoot me an email at [email protected].
