3/4 part Lime Juice

1/4 part Absinthe

Directions
Shake all ingredients vigorously with plenty ice, double strain into a rocks glass with a large ice cube.

Man of Steel is directed by Zach Snyder and is about an alien child that is evacuated from his dying world and sent to Earth to live among humans. His peace is threatened, when other survivors of his home planet invade Earth. It stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent aka Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane along with Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Russell Crow, Christopher Meloni, Kevin Costner, and Laurence Fishburn. This film is out of the DC Universe and is available to watch with your subscription to HBOMax or for rent on Amazon Prime.

Superman Cocktail (thismamaslife.com):
Ingredients
1 oz Cherry Vodka

1 oz Blue Curacao

2 oz Sprite

1 oz Coconut Vodka

1 oz Grenadine

Ice

Gold sanding sugar

Simple syrup
Directions
Set out two small appetizer plates. On one of the plates, pour out about 1 tbsp of simple syrup. On the other plate, add the sanding sugar.

Take your cocktail glass and dip the rim of it into the syrup and then into the sanding sugar. Set the glass aside while you prepare the cocktail.

Fill your glass ¾ of the way with ice.

*Tip: Small chunks of ice work much better than larger ones.

In a shaker, add the vodkas and grenadine and shake it like you’re Superman.

Pour the mix into your glass.

Add the Blue Curacao and Sprite to your shaker and shake vigorously again.

Pour the blue mixture slowly into the glass, pouring it straight down the center to achieve the layered look.

Ingredients
3/4 oz of Pineapple Juice

3/4 oz of Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum

3/4 oz of Malibu Coconut Rum

3/4 oz of Midori Melon Liqueur

1 splash of Bacardi 151 Rum

Combine ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker.

Shake and strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.

I had honestly planned on taking a bit of a break to plan for season three and to get several episodes recorded, and I might end up taking a break after I release the first four episodes (which you will understand why as you see what the films are). My friends wanted to do an episode on M. Night Shyamalan's Signs. I'll be honest, this is my least favorite film of his that I have seen and I give details why during this episode, but it was more enjoyable this second time watching it. If you haven't seen it, it is available to watch on Amazon Prime. Signs stars Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix, Rory Culkin, Abigail Breslin, and Cherry Jones and is about a family living on a farm finds mysterious crop circles in their fields which suggests something more frightening to come.
This episode brought out a lot of emotion and the importance of mental health, nothing was held back. They went down different rabbit holes because of how touched my guests were by Mel Gibson's portrayal of dealing with a traumatic incident. Alien Secretion Cocktail (tipsybartender.com):
Ingredients
2 oz. Coconut Rum

2 oz. Melon Liqueur

3 oz. Pineapple Juice
Directions
Rim the edge of your glass using blue sugar. Set aside.

In a shaking glass with ice, combine coconut rum, melon liqueur, and pineapple juice. Shake well.

Strain mix into rimmed glass over ice and garnish with a cherry.

March 02, 2021 Interview with Brendan Devane, the Writer and Director of The Canyonlands and Review
I had the opportunity to see an early screening of The Canyonlands, which releases in theatres on March 5th and on demand on March 9th. I was also able to interview Brendan Devane, he is the writer and director of this horror film and easy to interview. You might be wondering what this film is about and here is a brief description, after 5 people win a rafting trip down the Colorado in Utah, their adventure takes a deadly turn when they camp off the river for the night, and find out they aren't the only ones out in the remote rugged canyon lands.
The second part of this episode is my review with my friend Danielle. As a movie critic of sorts, I have to be honest about the films I see, I don't want to lie to my listeners, I want them to get excited about films or know ahead of time my thoughts. I will say, making a film is hard work, so hats off to anyone that is able to make it happen. Congratulations on all your hard work, it paid off. Continue to keep it up, making your new endeavors better and better.

1 ounce Southern Comfort
1 ounce sloe gin
1 ounce amaretto liqueur
2 ounces orange juice, freshly squeezed
Garnish: orange wedge
Directions
Add Southern Comfort, sloe gin, amaretto and orange juice to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice. Or, if serving as a shot, divide among shot glasses.
Garnish with an orange wedge.

So this week I was actually going to release a different episode but decided I would rather release this one, mainly because it was just released on Disney+ and fresh on everyone's mind and tvs.
This is a retelling of a classic fairytale produced by the one and only Whitney Houston, may she Rest In Peace. Along side Whitney Houston is Brandy Norwood, Victor Garber, Jason Alexander, Bernadette Peters, Whoopi Goldberg and others. If you haven't seen it, be sure to check it out on Disney+. Ignore the bad graphics, it was 1997 and just enjoy this awesome version.
Cinderella Glass Slipper Cocktail (recipesjust4u.com):
Ingredients
2 oz vodka
2 oz blue curacao
1 oz. Coconut nectar
3 oz. Grapefruit juice
3 oz. Pineapple juice
2 oz. cream
Sanding sugar for the glass rim (optional)
Instructions
Add ice to a cocktail shaker.
Pour the ingredients over the ice.
Shake vigorously together about 15 seconds to combine.
Strain into two martini glasses and enjoy.

I highly recommend this film if you haven't seen it yet, I actually really enjoyed it. While it takes place on Halloween 1968, it was released in 2019 and is directed by André Øvredal (The Autopsy of Jane Doe), based on the children's book series of the same name by Alvin Schwartz. The screenplay was adapted by Dan and Kevin Hageman (The Lego Movie), from a screen story by producer Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth), as well as Patrick Melton (The Collection) and Marcus Dunstan (The Collector). The film, an international co-production of the United States and Canada, stars Zoe Colletti (Fear the Walking Dead), Michael Garza (Wayward Pines), Gabriel Rush (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Austin Zajur (Fist Fight), Natalie Ganzhorn (The Set Up), Austin Abrams (Dash & Lily), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Gil Bellows (The Shawshank Redemption), and Lorraine Toussaint (Selma). It is available on Showtime, they allow a free trial. There is a sequel coming out in the future.
Blood Orange Sangria (HGTV.com):
Ingredients (Serves 6-8)
1 bottle Cabernet Sauvignon wine
1/2 cup brandy
1/4 cup orange liqueur
1 cup pomegranate juice
1/4 cup sugar
2 blood oranges, 1 sliced, 1 cut into small wedges
1/2 cup raspberries
1 cup strawberries, quartered
1 cup red apple, cut into chunks
Ice for serving
Instructions
Add all liquids to a large pitcher.
Add sugar and stir to dissolve.
Cut all of the fruit as necessary.
Add fruit to liquid and chill for at least 2 hours.
Serve over ice.

This week's episode is all other the place, the guests ended up down so many rabbit holes and I did my best to edit this episode down and shaved off 35 minutes. Normally I leave everything in and don't edit so much, but this episode needed it and the stuff I took out really wasn't important to the podcast. Extra drinking game, drink every time anyone makes fun of Micah's name.
Paranormal Activity 2 was released in October of 2010, it is a prequel to the first film from 2007. This franchise is honestly not one of my favorites, I prefer slasher films over supernatural events, plus the cheap and shaky camera footage. This franchise has done well and there will be another film releasing in 2022, but you must give credit where credit is due. I think that Blair Witch is the film that started this new era of horror (correct me if I am wrong). I was happy to see Molly Ephraim in this film, I did enjoy watching her on Last Man Standing. It is interesting to note that the preview for this film was banned in some theaters for scaring teenagers and small children. It also broke the record for the biggest midnight gross of an R-rated movie and the biggest opening for a horror movie of all time in its opening weekend. The film is available to watch on Starz or available to rent from Amazon.

1 part White Creme de Cacao
1 part Coconut Milk
Drizzle of Black Sambucca
Directions
Combine LUCID, White Creme de Cacao and Coconut Milk in a shaker filled with ice.
Shake till Frothy and strain into a short rocks glass over ice.
Drizzle Black Sambucca down the side of the glass until it floats on the bottom and diffuses through the cocktail.

This week I am sharing with you a watch-a-long episode on Saved By The Bell, normally I just post the watch-a-longs on my Patreon. I know I don't share a lot about it on the podcast but I will be. There's no pressure to join, but I wanted to at least have one (I was actually told that I should've started this when I launched my podcast) and have some different content on there. The watch-a-longs are so much fun to do, I have episodes on things like Lily and Dash to Legends of the Hidden Temple, just a fun time. January 19, 2021Friends: The One In Vegas Part 1 and Part 2 (S5E23, S5E24)
This week we did one of my all-time favorite shows, Friends!!! I love this show, so well written, so funny, amazing cast, great jokes, very relatable, you know you can always relate to one of the friends. I relate to Chandler, he is my spirit animal, ha. Also, The One in Vegas was chosen and I grew up in Vegas, so there's that. I don't know about you, but this was a show I started watching in season 4, I actually had to hide the fact that I watched it, season 4 was when I was living in Vegas. I was hooked! "I take thee Rachel." That was talked about at school by students and teachers, more so the teachers. Side note, I did meet Lauren Tom (aka Julie) a couple of years ago, no one was asking questions in this panel for Men in Trees, so I said I have a dumb question, I said that I hadn't watched Men In Trees but I would try to find it to watch now (I still haven't), but I had to know what she thought Russ and Julie were up to these days. Everyone laughed, audience and the panel, so that was good. She let me know that she thought Russ and Julie were still together and had a lot of cats. After the panel was over, I did talk to her for a bit and got a selfie and she signed my copy of Friends, she was so kind and genuine. Anyway, enjoy this episode.

January 12, 2021The Hardy Boys: Welcome To Your Life (S1E1)
Unless you've been living under a rock, I'm sure that you've at least heard of The Hardy Boys. According to HardyBoys.us (The Hardy Boys Unofficial Home Page), in 1926, Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate, conceived the idea for the Hardy Boys. He created the plot outlines and then advertised for ghostwriters to complete the stories. Most notable among these writers is Leslie MacFarlane, who wrote volumes 1-16 and 22-24 and is generally regarded as by far the best ghostwriter of the series. The first three volumes of the series were released as a "breeder" set in mid-May 1927. There were five more stories published in the following two years. After that, new titles were released in an almost unvarying pattern of one per year for the next fifty years. Feel free to investigate more history from their site, Wikipedia, to learn more about the book series and television shows. I highly recommend checking out the series on Hulu as well, it was great.

Hardy Boy Cocktail
1 1/2 oz rye

3/4 oz Suze

1/2 oz wormwood-peppermint syrup*

1/4 oz crème de cacao

Combine ingredients in a mixing glass. Stir with ice and serve in a chilled rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange peel.
*Wormwood-Peppermint Syrup
1/4 cup dried peppermint

1/2 cup wormwood

2 qt water

2 qt sugar

Add dried peppermint and wormwood to hot water and steep for 10 minutes to make tea. Stir in sugar and allow mixture to reach room temperature. Strain through a fine mesh strainer before use. Yields 3 quarts of syrup.
