This film was Chris Columbus' first directing job, you know him from such films as Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Stepmom. It was written by David Simkins who went onto do such projects as The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., Roswell, Charmed, and the remake of Adventures in Babysitting. The cast includes the aforementioned Elisabeth Shue (The Karate Kid, Death Wish, CSI, Hollow Man, and Leaving Las Vegas) as well as Maia Brewton (Back to the Future), Keith Coogan (Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, Toy Soldiers), Anthony Rapp (Rent, A Beautiful Mind, Star Trek: Discovery), Vincent D'Onofrio (Men In Black, Full Metal Jacket, Death Wish), Penelope Ann Miller (The Artist, Along Came A Spider, The Relic), George Newbern (Scandal, Father of the Bride, Law & Order: SVU), and Bradley Whitford (Get Out, The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip).

On this episode I am joined by my sister to discuss her choice of Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s third Halloween episode. If you haven’t ever watched the show, I highly recommend that you do. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is such a well written show with an amazing cast. Their Halloween episodes are classics that everyone is eager to watch every season. 

This show is full of an amazing cast that cannot be replaced. On this episode we discuss the Wonderful World of Disney classic My Date With The President’s Daughter starring Will Friedle and Elisabeth Harnois. If you like to watch the film before, you can either buy a bootleg copy on eBay like I did or I believe you can watch it on YouTube in portions. I wish they would add this film to Disney+, I was actually surprised when I realized it wasn't on it, especially since Will Friedle has been with Disney for a long time.

I think I'm about to blow your mind, I honestly thought this was older than it was, I had not idea it was released in 1998. This to me is one of those Disney channel movies that is a standout film that at least every 90s kid remembers and watched. We all remember Will from his role as Eric Matthews on Boy Meets World, as well as many voice over work like Ron Stoppable from Kim Possible. Elisabeth is a beautiful actress known for Adventures in Wonderland, CSI as Morgan Brody, One Tree Hill, and several Christmas movies.

While I think IMDb's rating of 5/10 is a little harsh, this will remain a Disney classic to me. So grab a cocktail and relive your childhood.

Listen as we discuss the romantic comedy Fool’s Gold starring Matthew McConaughey, Kate Hudson, and Donald Sutherland. This film is available to watch on IMDb TV. This film was released in 2008, for some reason I actually had never seen it, but I'm glad this was chosen for the podcast. If you aren't sure what this film is about, it's about how a new clue to the whereabouts of a lost treasure rekindles a married couple's sense of adventure -- and their estranged romance.

It was directed by Andy Tennant, he's known for some great romantic comedies like Hitch, Fools Rush In, and Sweet Home Alabama, he also was one of the co-writers for this film. It was also written by John Claflin (Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid and They Nest) and Daniel Zelman (Damages, Bloodline). Its hard to not know who Matthew McConaughey with films including Dazed and Confused, Bernie, A Time To Kill, EDtv, The Wedding Planner, and lets not forget his role as Larry Dickens in S5E12 of Unsolved Mysteries which you can totally check out on IMDb TV. Kate Hudson has continued to have a great career as well with films including Almost Famous, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Raising Helen, and The Skeleton Key. Another big name is Donald Sutherland, who is known for The Hunger Games, Horrible Bosses, The Italian Job, and Space Cowboys. The two actors that I didn't know where in this film that caught me off guard are Kevin Hart (Ride Along and Jumanji) and Malcolm-Jamal Warner (The Resident and The Cosby Show).

On this episode, we discuss a 90s classic show that should make a comeback, Are You Afraid of the Dark? The episode is The Tale of the Room for Rent from season 4, episode 8 as told by JoAnna Garcia Swisher. So all you 90’s children grab a cocktail and reminisce the good ole days of dunk-a-roos, gushers, surge and slime.

In my researching for a cocktail, I have discovered a book all of you 90s kids might want to check out, its called Are You Afraid of the Dark Rum? And Other Cocktails for 90s Kids by Sam Slaughter. The books says is is a cocktail book with recipes for re-creating adult versions of your favorite 90s childhood drinks as well as original craft cocktails....and includes drinks like The Fresh Mint of Bel-Air, Mambo No. 5, The Slammer, and The Rossi and Rachel.

This is not a series I have ever watched before, but I know a lot of people are fans. Outlander is on STARZ and also available to watch on Netflix. The series is about an English combat nurse, Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe, Ford v Ferrari, Money Monster), from 1945, who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743. It also stars Sam Heughan (Young Alexander the Great, The Spy Who Dumped Me), and Duncan Lacroix (Vikings, Outlaw King).

For those of you who haven't watched the series, this is not for children, the sex & nudity (according to IMDb) is severe, as well as is the violence and gore, with profanity being moderate. Figured some of you might appreciate knowing this in advance.

On this weeks episode I am joined by actor Michael Welch, you may now him from the Twilight series or from Joan of Arcadia (a fantastic short-lived tv show), and we discuss The Lighthouse starting Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson.

I loved the show Joan of Arcadia, which was sadly cancelled after 2 seasons, thankfully they were both released on DVD and I own them. If you have never watched the series, I highly recommend checking it out, although I think you have to purchase them or maybe check YouTube  (or another way to download the show). Along with Michael Welch, it stars Amber Tamblyn (Ring, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Spiral, House), Joe Mantegna (The Godfather: Part III, Criminal Minds, The Simpsons, Cars 2), Mary Steenburgen (Step Brothers, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist), and Jason Ritter (A Million Little Things, Raising Dion, Drunk History). 

Along with Joan of Arcadia, Michael has been in so many things like Day of the Dead, The Richies, Twilight, Unrequited, Grace Unplugged, Boy Meets Girl, A Haunting in Cawdor, as well as guest starring in many television series. I had an amazing time doing the podcast with him, he's a very nice guy and more than likely an actor you would recognize if you saw his face. Look him up on IMDb, check out his extensive acting credits from being in the business for nearly 25 years. Hopefully he will be back for more episodes.

On this episode (despite a few technical details) we discuss the classic film Speed starring the lovely and talented Sandra Bullock and the awesome guy that everyone loves Keanu Reeves. So grab a cocktail, beer, or a glass of wine and enjoy.

Released June 10, 1994, this action/thriller was written by Graham Yost and directed by Jan de Bont. IMDb gave it a 7.2/10, but this will always be a top film for me. Growing up my parents would take me with them to see movies, so this was one I was able to see in theaters, and yes that does show my age. I'm thankful that this was a film that my parents didn't mind taking me to. Sandra Bullock is America's Sweetheart with films like The Net and While You Were Sleeping, which my mom loved and pretty sure I saw that about 12 times in the theatre. I visited Chicago for the first time in March of 2017 and I did find the L booth she worked at and totally took a selfie there along with other pics. I know not everyone likes her, but I honestly don't know how people can't, she's so pretty, funny, talented, and seems very sweet and down to earth. Keanu Reeves is an actor everyone loves, everyone that knows him or has met him says he is truly the nicest guy. The Matrix, Point Break, John Wick, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Babes in Toyland, Dangerous Liaisons, and the list goes on and on.
